http://hornets.realgm.com/articles/20/2007...preview_(13th)/If Julian Wright is really there at 13, I'd snatch him up. Rudy Fer is too much of a reach and a gamble that high. And I'd rather not take Acie Law; someone who we don't even know if he can start at the 2. Looks like Nick Young might be gone by 13 :no1:?

Similar article from Hoopsworld:http://www.hoopsworld.com/article_22325.shtml<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>A few of the players who fit the bill that could be available when New Orleans is on the clock include: Nick Young (a 6'7" SG/SF out of USC), Al Thornton (6'7" SF/PF - Florida State), Thaddeus Young (6'8" SF/PF - Georgia Tech), Rudy Fernandez (6'6" SG), Derrick Byars (6'7" SG/SF - Vanderbilt), Rodney Stuckey (6'5" SG - Eastern Washington), Julian Wright (6'9" SF/PF - Kansas), and Jeff Green (6'10" SF/PF - Georgetown). One dream scenario would be trading up to land Corey Brewer, but the Hornets do not have many...The Hornets would love to see Julian Wright slip all the way down to #13 but he will almost definitely be off the board by then. Some teams have the silky smooth Wright as the fifth or sixth highest ranked player on their draft boards. Another intriguing possibility would be Jeff Green. Green has no true position, but is extremely talented and has a great feel for the game. Some scouts project him as a Lamar Odom/Boris Diaw type player due to his exceptional versatility. He will most likely be off the board when the Hornets are up, but if he was somehow still available they would have a real hard time passing up on a player with his skill set. One other dream scenario would be trading up to land Florida's Corey Brewer, but the Hornets likely do not have the necessary chips teams in the first half of the lottery would require to give up their pick. Although it would make sense to get on the phone and offer some combination of the 13th pick, Hilton Armstrong and Cedric Simmons. See if that stirs up any interest from the Bucks at six or the Timberwolves at seven... Most likely, the Hornets will have to choose between the other players listed above. Arguments could be made for each of them, but the best fit may very well be Thaddeus Young. Still just 18 years old (he will turn 19 next week), Young is just starting to scratch the surface of what he can become. He is incredibly athletic and utilizes every inch of his 6'8" frame; his upside is off the charts. In addition, he is fundamentally sound and supposedly has a very solid work ethic, exhibited by a reported 4.0 GPA at Georgia Tech. Moreover, Thaddeus has roots in New Orleans, as he was born there and spent his early childhood in the city. It may behoove the Hornets to bring this young man back home. And word out of New Orleans is that they are strongly considering doing just that - especially after that were able to have him in for a workout last Friday...</div>

We have GOT to get Nick Young, only if Wright is not there at 13. If we take Acie Law instead of Young, we are going to have some serious problems. Law is just not a natural SG that can hit shots on a consistent basis on the perimeter... great article though

I agree; a lot of people say he would be a nice starter at the 2 but I think he should maximize his potential at his natural position. I wouldn't be too pleased with a short guard lineup either. It's almost Nick Young or trade down, unless they are extremely convinced and coax themselves into taking Thaddeus.
