I always look back at the Raptors picking Chris Bosh in that draft, and wondering to myself, when will Bosh get his glory? When will SI feature Bosh Carmelo and Lebron, instead of Wade, Melo and Lebron, or any other way. Then I look at each team individually:Miami Heat: D-wade was the first to pick up a ring, to me it looks like itll be a while before his team gets another one, maybe the Heat might consider rebuilding.Nuggets: it will be so hard for Melo to win a ring in that horribly competitive eastern conference, so I dont like his chances.Cleveland Cavs: Lebron got to the Finals this year, but is likely not going to win a ring, and dependin on how they play their offseason to see if they will make any damage next year.Chris Bosh: The first four years for Bosh were shaky, until because came, now hes slowly turning them in what seems to be contenders. In 5 years, with the right players and management, Toronto looks like they could be a contender. So my conclusion is, in 5 years, it looks to me that Chris Bosh could be the most likely to get a ring out of this bunch, with his only probable competition Lebron James. So seemingly off the bat, it seemed like Bosh would never taste playoffs as a raptor. But slowly, hes developing into a superstar, and will likely be a contender in the lowly east in a couple of years, with the exception of Lebron, whos team will probably age as well, Bosh looks to have to the brightest future, What do you guys think?

I remember people used to knock this guy because of his frame, but look at what he is doing now. Bosh is in a good situation with a young team, an up-and-coming coach, and a GM that seems to know what he is doing. On top of all that, he is in the Eastern Conference where IMO there is a lot less competition, no real powerhouse outside of the Pistons, and we see new teams rising every year. If they make the right moves and he stays consistent and keeps a good head on his shoulders, they can really go places. I think Bosh is the next out of that 'Big Four' in the '03 class to get a ring; things aren't looking too great in Denver and Melo has a lot to learn as far as leadership.

I still think LeBron has a better chance to get it before Bosh. The Cavs will still be on top of the East next season. People are starting to look away from LeBron because he isn't playing great, but they don't realize he is playing one of the best defenses that the NBA has seen in a while, and their main focus is stopping LeBron. Next year come playoff time, he'll still be hitting big shots and doing all he can to get the Cavs right back to the Finals, while I think the Raptors are a couple years away from getting anywhere close to the Finals.

Bosh is the fourth best player of that draft and therefore gets the fourth most recognition. Pretty simple.

Man, looking back at that draft, it has to be one of the best in NBA history. LeBron, Wade, Carmelo, Bosh, Kaman, Hinrich, and Ford all in the top 10. Then players like Diaw and Josh Howard in the 20s, Howard all the way at 29. Mo Williams all the way at 47. Man...

Dang look at that...Phoenix could have had David West or Josh Howard...we would have been dominant.

How bout some of those busts? Darko is bust supreme of course, then we got Reece Gaines behind him, followed by Troy Bell, Cabarkapa (they saw a lil bit too much in him), Travis Outlaw (the jury is definitely still out though), Ebi. A lot of people were stoked about Lampe too.

Theres usually just as many busts as there is stars...if not more...so its not bringing down the '03 class at all....

I guess the problem I have with talking about Bosh not getting talked about is that he is not the only one from that draft that doesn't get talked about (that was a hard sentence to parse in my head). Bosh is a great player, but then you have guys like Hinrich, Barbosa, and JHo that aren't even the most recognized player on their team.

Chris Bosh gets the credit he deserves. He hasn't done anything that spectacular that others have without the same amount of credit. He has got what he deserves.

Marcus Banks is underappreciated too..... chirp chirp..... well, it was worth a try, right? In all seriousness, I thought this was gonna be a thread saying "The 2003 Draft isn't REALLY that good" or something, but it was just a "Chris Bosh gets no love" thread.

The way I look at the 2003 draft...Detroit couldnt of picked a worse time to make a bust pick. We could have Wade, Anthony, Bosh, Howard, Hinrich or any of the guys who are 20x better than Darko right now. But Im not complaining, because it might've screwed up the chemistry. After all we did win a championship, that same here and we didnt need any help from a star rookie.
