I've seen this stat thrown about so much over the past 5 years but I don't think it's true still. In the first round just this year, the eventual loser of the series won 3 of the 8 Game 1s.

I can pretty much shoot my normal shot up to 40 feet. I almost prefer to shoot about 5 feet behind the line so I can shoot closer to full power instead of trying to aim more with the college three.

However, doing a step back or side step from that distance and trying to shoot it normal like Dame did with your momentum going the opposite way is nearly impossible for me. I was trying to maintain form while doing that and I couldn't even get the ball to the rim. The only way I could is to do more of a push shot or throw.

Did not like this quote by Terry Stotts: "It's whatever team plays better. It sounds pretty simple, but as you get into a seven-game series, it’s less about adjustment & more about teams playing well, players playing well.”
Especially after failure to adjust last year, and not needing to make any adjustments against the hapless Billy Donovan.

Kanter should play, the real question is will he last? We need him. He at least will make Jokic work defensively and on the boards.

After the series against OKC I honestly go into this series without expecting anything. Losing to a healthy Nuggets team isn’t going to ruin my day. I don’t hate anyone on their team nearly as much as I hate Westbrook, and some of the other Thunder. But fuck em anyway. Their fans are trash.

I can "walk into" my shot from most places on the "right" side of the half court line and keep my form, now if it goes in I mean sometimes they do, sometimes they don't, (I'm not saying it's a good shot for me just that I am comfortable I can get the ball there) Side step and momentum going one way that's a different level of crazy add in a 6'8 hyper-athletic guy a couple feet away guarding me, and nope that isn't going to happen lol.

Honestly, that's one of my biggest concerns about this series. Altitude conditioning plus HCA are big factors in DEN's favor, and are two big reasons I'd have preferred SAS. But let's go out and prey on their inexperience and fatigue!

Blazers had a lot of rest and Denver looked gassed 2 days ago. we need to run, run, run and run some more. we will smoke them if we do.

I lived at altitude and did some long distance racing. The altitude helps/hurt in terms of sucking wind, but doesn't impact muscle fatigue or strength. When I would run at sea level, my lungs felt like I could run forever, but my legs still got just as tired. Still, it isn't an advantage for the Blazers.

Yeah, obviously I'm from Portland, but I've spent time at altitude and that feeling of not getting enough oxygen is no good. Maybe they'll have some O2 canisters over on the bench?

I think our players have some of the best conditioning in the league. I don't see our guys get winded much.

    Oooh...I'm ascared of Jokic....
    Oooh...I'm worried about Kanter's shoulder...
    Pansies..
Denver better be worried about this freight train of destiny rolling into Pepsi Center.
Denver is the team I wanted (me and 3 others)!
Portland will win this series. Period.

Right now we probably playing then Denver. If we are lock in we are really good and right now we are lock in at both ends. Dame probably play his best defense last serious since he enter the NBA and other players can see that and there are stepping up too.

Interesting question. I looked it up to see if it was even allowed. Seems you only see it in Football. The only explanation i could find was that football fields are longer. But i would bet that NBA players run further for longer periods during a game. There does not seem to be a rule against it.

Dame told me once that the altitude is a real problem. But he said it just kicks his ass the first couple minutes, then he gets used to it. I think it will mess with the bench guys more.
