I'm surprised by the polls this morning, Biden got quite a big bounce from his announcement and is now way in front of the rest of the pack.
There were some very good things about Biden's rollout, but at the same time he had the Anita Hill thing that he didn't deal with all that well.
Anyway, the race now looks like Snow White Biden and the 19 dwarfs. We'll see if that lasts.

Sorry but the distinguished Mr. Maris beat you to it. But like the NFL draft, what really matters is being #2.

Bernie or Yang for me at the moment. None of the other democratic candidates would get my vote.

If they got the nomination. Call it naiveté or whatever you'd like, but I won't vote for someone I don't believe in just because they might be the lesser of two evils.

Though it is possible I could change my mind about another candidate since, admittedly, I don't know all of them that well. But from what I've seen so far it's not likely.

    What? You NO want Millary?

That is my new nickname for Biden. Male Hillary.

It isn't completely accurate, Biden is way way way more likable than Hillary.

Long time coroporate owned white Democrat? Check. Close enough.

Barely in the race and China Joe is schilling hard for his Communist Overlords!

What a moron. Now he's opened the door to a year and a half of scrutiny and investigations into his trading of US secrets and political favors to enrich his family.

Biden Dismissive of China Threat: ‘They’re Not Competition for Us’

Former vice president and Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden expressed skepticism that China is a competitive threat to the United States during an Iowa event Wednesday.

"China is going to eat our lunch? Come on, man," Biden reportedly said. "They're not bad folks, folks. But guess what? They're not competition for us."

This contrasts sharply with the Trump administration's stance on China. As Biden indicated, Trump has gone after China for their trade practices, but the administration has also been tough on Chinese
    propaganda.

A paper published by the White House Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy last June highlighted the threat China poses America and the global economy:

The People’s Republic of China (China) has experienced rapid economic growth to become the world’s second largest economy while modernizing its industrial base and moving up the global value chain. However, much of this growth has been achieved in significant part through aggressive acts, policies, and practices that fall outside of global norms and rules (collectively, "economic aggression"). Given the size of China’s economy and the extent of its market-distorting policies, China’s economic aggression now threatens not only the U.S. economy but also the global economy as a whole.

The paper concludes "China’s acts, policies, and practices of economic aggression now targeting the technologies and IP of the world threaten not only the U.S. economy but also the global innovation system as a whole."

Earlier this week, the Wall Street Journal reported Chinese spies are stepping up efforts to recruit U.S. intelligence officers to access government secrets.

"Senior U.S. law enforcement and intelligence officials have escalated their warnings characterizing Chinese espionage as the single most significant long-term strategic threat, encompassing both spycraft intended to steal government secrets and the sustained heist of intellectual property and research from the corporate and academic worlds," the report notes.

So let's assume for the moment one of the other Democrats wins the nomination. Let's say, randomly, it's Hickenlooper. Just because he has a funny name.

Hickenlooper is running against Trump, presumably, and perhaps some as-yet unchosen third party candidates.

You say you won't vote for Hickenlooper since he's not Bernie or Yang. Ok.

    1. Does that mean you plan to vote for Trump, vote for a third-party candidate that you don't yet know, or not vote at all?

    2. What happens to your candidates and their visions after the election?

Bernie will return to the senate. Are his ideas more likely to become law if Trump or Hickenlooper becomes president? It would seem the chances are vastly greater with Hickenlooper than with Trump.

Yang is harder to say, as it is unclear to me what he might do if he doesn't get the nomination. But it's certainly conceivable that if he doesn't make enemies, Hickenlooper might appoint him to an administration position and give him a voice that way. Trump certainly will not.

Of course if you conclude that Hickenlooper is evil, then maybe you don't want to vote for him anyway. I get that.

But if you want Bernie or Yang because of their policies (as opposed to some other measure) then you might consider, if they don't get the nomination, that maybe you at least get a fraction of what you wanted with the candidate who does.

Yesterday, I would have said Biden but now Kamala Harris is looking like a good candidate.

Definitely would not vote for Trump. Third party candidate is possible if there's one I really like. But you do make a good point and that is something I'll consider if/when the time comes.

I love Yang. Would love for him to win the nomination. But, if he doesn't, like Barfo said, I'm hoping he gets on the administration.

America will never nominate an Asian Male because America is racist as fuck. Terms like Ching Chong are normalized. Look at any face book news story involving an asian male.

    CHING CHONG
    AH SO
    WONG
    ME SO HORNY

    and so on.

Its a little bit of this, but on a national level. America will not take an asian male seriously.

Did you know, if we had less people, then the individual UBI will be higher.

And...thats the case for mass genocide.

Real American take Asians quite seriously, will never fully trust them as a whole, and that is why Yang stands no chance.

    1. WWII and Korean War and Vietnam War American POW's and their families and descendants know all too well the dark, sadistic and psychopathic base of Asian cultures and ideologies that are unfathomable to today's pampered and protected class of adult-aged children.

    2. More than a dozen Chinese spies have been rounded up in the last year alone, and several top Dems have been found to carelessly hire them and give them access to top security information. They have looted trillions of dollars of trade secrets, bootlegged every product ever made by Americans, purchased a Vice President and faced zero consequences because of the cowardice and complicity of every President starting with Nixon.

    3. Chinese forced-labor camps filled with children, a North Korean leader who feeds people to his dogs, Thailand whose entire economy is dependent on pedophilia tourism...Read some of the actual details of treatment by the Japanese of prisoners in the Philippines, hear from the few who survived the Bataan Death March....

These are not cultural "quirks", they are the acceptable norms to cultures no decent human being can ever understand. Nor should we want to.

China Joes pay-for-play scheme will be a top issue soon and will be common knowledge even to the most ignorant and loyal Dems long before 2020 rolls around. Yang's contacts, donors, associations and past votes will be examined and his career will likely come to a grinding halt around the same time.
