It is obious that the current playoff formatt is a bit of a joke!The real Nba finals for the past couple of season has not bee the finals. It looks nice but the thing is traveling time zones I think they are going to put 1 more day instead of the 2 day period.
Your basically just strengthening the West's chances of dominating the NBA. Like what type of series would feature the Orlando Magic, vs. the Dallas Mavericks? The NBA would go back to a 5 game series in the first round. Partly because those series wouldnt even be worth watching. It just makes the elite teams dominate more.

There are two conferences, in almost every professional sport the two conferences play in the finals. Right now the east is weak, but compared to the early 2000s it is getting better. I bet by 2010 the balance of conference power will pan out. It's not like the east loses every year, last year Miami won the whole thing.

Getting knocked out in the first round is what makes teams blow up, sign new coaches, and further more fire staff and rebuild a team. Your complaining about the West dominating, and the East sucking, but in 10 years, your just making that hole bigger. It would just force the NBA to make it the top 6 in each conference. because like you said mavericks vs. magic makes no sense. Therefore, making the East more a lottery deathrap. But you completely ignore that, telling me im worried about the Raptors.
Once again, something doesn't work out the way the fans want it so we have to change it. Leave it the way it is, I wish people would stop trying to tinker with everything. It's been the East v. West for decades, don't change it now because it didn't work this season, come on.If it's done by record, why even have divisions or conferences in the first place.
