I was at the game and I was the one who told Stotts to pull Mo and put in Hood.

Okay, I didn't really tell him, it was more like we locked eyes from across the arena. That deep gaze we shared and suddenly we were soulmates, basketball soulmates. I'll have to put him on the Christmas card list now.

So you might not know another fun storry from postgame interviews.

“I just felt pretty good, you know I was telling Gary Trent and Ant (Anfernee Simons) that if I got a chance, I was going to end it.” Hood said. Hood's third consecutive shot, a three-pointer, at the 1:07 mark of the final OT was one of the biggest shots in Hood's basketball career.

All in all, I really think it must be huge pressure for Stotts, when he must know (because all world knows about fresh legs) but he afraid to change things. He got lucky with Hood.
But, in my opinion, something has drasticly changed in Stotts coaching not that long ago - and this change was good. I don't know the reason. He could go out and say: "I would like to take props for that, but..."
It looks like he got his act together. I was on "fire Stotts" banwagon for long time, but I'm one leg out of it cos of this sudden change.

It was just a guess. You had a right to say as you wish to it given your current knowledge at the time of the post. But the apology beforehand is a true gentlemen right there. Major props.

You know what I've been contemplating about Game 5? Everyone wishes they were there but what if there was some butterfly effect shit and if one person in the crowd was different the whole game goes differently and we never have the Dame game winner.

:) I was talking about Stotts saying that about the whole season, not just Hood sub.

Q: It was good run for your team coach this season. How you manage to do this.
Stotts: Well, I would like to take props for that, but it was all fortuity. Nothing to do with me.

I stated my thoughts in the game thread well before he made the decision to put in Hood. I think your smugness is showing here. Smugness - exhibiting or feeling great or offensive satisfaction with oneself or with one's situation

Honestly, the appeal of attending games is sort of lost on me. Traffic, crowds, much worse view of the action than from home unless you have great seats... Watching the game on TV, it was obvious Moe was cramping a possession or two before he was subbed out. He was gingerly stretching his hamstrings near the free throw line and was trying to not limp on his way to the sideline.

I don't know what your view was like, though, and I do tend to notice those things more than most people.

No worries man. Easy thing to do. I didn't know until after the game either. Just considered it fresh legs were needed.

I always record and wathcd the games I go to. For one the cameras are on the opposite side, so I get the 180° rotation view of the game. Plus I miss a TON at the game and I have half court seats.

No argument there - I certainly appreciate his defensive adjustments. Big time reason the OKC series was won so quickly!
However, his offense has always sucked* and continues to suck*. Funny that a guy known as an "offensive genius" is actually better at defense.

*Yes, "suck" might be slightly overstating it. But regardless of any hyperbole his offense is not good.

In that case, I'd like to take credit for winning G3. Me being there was an improbable last-minute fluke - that fluke lead us to victory!

Agree. I'm super happy I was able to be at the game - but in terms of WATCHING a game, TV is almost always superior for getting the full context and a good view of all the action. Looking forward to watching today's game on TV. Also, my throat is still fucked this morning (and arms shoulders still sore). I won't even be able to yell at the TV today - there's no way I could cheer at the game even if I were lucky enough to fall into some tickets again.

We finished regular season with the 6 best offense in the league. Slightly ahead of Denver and Boston.

I’ve seen Stotts send double-teams this year which I hadn’t seen before.
