McHale wasn't neccessarily top 5 in the league at any point in his career (though you could make an argument for 86-87) whereas Malone was a 3 time MVP and led his team to a clean sweep of the showtime Lakers in '83.
I'll give this a whirl, but I refuse to rank PF/C's combined. That's too difficult.Centers1. Bill Russell2. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar3. Wilt Chamberlain4. Shaquille O'Neal5. Hakeem Olajuwon6. how about john havlicek for one of those spots.sure he 6'5" but Wes Unseld was 6'7"-6'8" as a center too.Elgin Baylor for the other spot too.

I believe he played both frontcout posistions, depending on who was on the team at the time.that and he played so many mins so he switched back and forth too.

Were there small amounts of time where they'd put in 4 backcourt players? Yes, because that was their running style... but he was a swingman, and in no way was he a big man. I can't believe you're even trying to make a case for that. That's like saying Gerald Green can play the 4 because Doc puts him there, like a friggen idiot, at times.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I broke them down a little more because Duncan and Russell switch back and forth during the game.</div>Russell didn't switch back and forth during the game to my knowledge....who else was playing center for that team? Jim Luscotoff? Tommy Heinson? Satch Sanders? Those were his three teammates closest to being centers and they were 6'5", 6'6", and 6'7" respectively. Bill Russell was the second tallest guy in the league for a couple years, and the third for much of his career.
Might as well add my own1.Wilt Chamberlain2.Kareem Abdul Jabbar3.Hakeem Olajuwon4.Shaquille O'neal 5.Moses Malone6.Karl Malone7.David Robinson8.Tim Duncan9.Kevin Mchale10.Patrick Ewing
No Bill Russell? In the top 10?You do realize he averaged 22 and a half rebounds per game over his career, 2nd most all-time to Wilt by 0.4, right?

Duncan should be higher than that, hes accomplished more than Robinson, both Malones, Hakeem and he and Shaq are head-to-head.

Are you out of your mind? Moses Malone and Hakeem Olajuwon played agaist Magic Johnson's Lakers,Larry Birds Celtics,The Cavaliers with Larry Nance,Mark Price AND Ron Harper(as a beast in his prime),The Hawks with Dominique Wilkins and Spud Webb, The Bad Boy Pistons, etc. Its a joke when you compare that competition to teams like the 99 Knicks,03 Nets, and 07 Cavaliers.David Robinson as far as individual talent was also a better player with less supporting cast and very high level competition while still putting up better numbers and playing better defense. You can compare Duncan and Robinson though but they are basically the same player just drafted 10 years or so apart but Hakeem Olajuwon and Moses Malone are on a pillar above Duncan. Shaq I would also put higher considering he played Duncan in his prime and came out victorious in most of their encounters head to head.
I never said more talented or who they played against, but at the end of the day its whos won more. Duncan is more accomplished then ...although you can make a arguement about who they played in the Finals...but look at who the Spurs had to get through in the Western conference. I agree, Duncan isnt as talented as Robinson, but hes accomplished more. And if you use that arguement about competition, Russel and Chamberlain should be way lower in the lists.
