<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BluffCityBlue @ Jun 18 2007, 02:05 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I never said more talented or who they played against, but at the end of the day its whos won more. Duncan is more accomplished then ...although you can make a arguement about who they played in the Finals...but look at who the Spurs had to get through in the Western conference. I agree, Duncan isnt as talented as Robinson, but hes accomplished more. And if you use that arguement about competition, Russel and Chamberlain should be way lower in the lists.</div>You said Duncan accomplished more then Hakeem. The fact that Hakeem before he had turned 25 was even allowed in the same court as the legendary 80s celtics in the finals alone qualifies him as more accomplished much less his jordan-like playoff performances of the mid 90s. Moses Malone also played very much like Hakeem and even beat the dynasty lakers in their primes. Your telling me those two arent more accomplished then Duncan?

No, I dont think so. Hes been on the all-defensive and nba teams since he was a rookie, won 3 Finals MVPs, 4 NBA Championships etc. He accomplished more, as far as championships/rings etc. Duncan plays in a conference flowing with good big men...hes just more accomplished. And like I said, if you want to bring what competition they had in this, Chamberlain and Russel could easily be 5-6 spots lower.

He had a bad series...but all other 3 he was a MVP. And you forget what I said about the West. Its obvious that its more difficult to get through the West than to beat a Eastern conference team in the Finals. You have to look at what he did against Western conference teams, where the real competition was.

He didn't shoot the ball well in games 3 or 4, but he was effective in all of the other areas. He put up 18 ppg, 12 rpg, and averaged a few blocked shots.Don't forget his incredible defense either. He didn't play bad at all, just didn't score with his usual efficiency.</span>

Who did the Spurs play this year? The Nuggets,Suns, and Jazz. Hakeem played agaist much of the same teams except the Jazz team he played starred John Stockton and Karl Malone not deron williams and carlos Boozer. Then he went on to come back from a 3-1 deficit to beat Charles Barkley and Kevin Johnson's Suns in the semifinals then finished his postseason off against the MVP David Robinson and averaged 35 PPG and 15 RPG against one of the best post players alltime leading his team to Orlando where he shut out an entire team nearly single-handedly and a prime shaq and penny hardaway. Yet you still say Duncan accomplished more? That was just one post-season of what Hakeem had to go through. You think Duncan could survive that gauntlet of great playoff teams? :HAHAHA:

Thats half of the series...it wasnt a very good series for him...sure he was affective but he has defiently played well. It was a bad series to what Duncan is custom too...

Thaere are just as many great players and combinations now as there were back then!

WHoa you keep bouncing from 80's to 90's and back again. No I wouldn't compare them to those 2 teams but to all the others you mentioned Yes absolutley I would. Sorry I called you an idiot, got a bit carried away.Seriously though the other teams back then were'nt better then the "other teams" now and the stars back then aren't better.

Barkley should have made a lot more of your lists. The whole Duncan thing is done to death, the Duncan lovers for some reason seem to glaze over the fact that he has not had nearly as hard competition in his finals as players like Karl Malone & Hakeem had. They aren't going to change their minds, so the argument could go on for ever.
