I had this thing for less than a year and all of asudden I turn it on and it has 3 lights flashing on it. So I look it up online and everyone says if you see 3 red lights your system is dead. Turns out a sh*t load of people have this same problem and a lot of people are already on their 4th xbox 360. Its like microsoft built this crap to self destruct. My original nintendo system still freaking works after 20 years and this thing cant last 1 year. Has anyone else had their 360 die on them, because I feel like burning microsoft down and I need some volunteers.

Never had mine die... yet (knock on wood). Also, one time I had the red lights flashing, and all it meant was that one of the cables was unplugged. It doesn't necessarily mean your system is dead (technically), so check your cables and everything. But if it obviously isn't doing it then it's dead.Did you buy it in the first few batches that were released? Because those are the ones with the majority of the problems, and usually it's just overheating (a simple $20 fan stand solves that problem). Also, if you have the warranty, Microsoft will fix it for you, and will pay for shipping both ways.

My friend has gone through like four, one has the red lights..My first one, my mom hit by accident and it fell over and F*cked it up. Got another one, has worked fine fo rlike a year and a half, core system, been knocked over one or twice, moved continuously by the cleaning lady who comes once a week and I always think it will be F*cked up and it works fine. No game has been broken or anything. (knock on wood)

A couple of people got them to take off 25% of the fee for a repair so ill see what happens, but hopefully im still under that warranty

Mine fried when I played Dead Rising on it last summer. This is my second and no problems yet (but I am very nervous when I buy a new game).

^My second was sent free because of the game that fried it. I am sure that is the case for most people on their 2nd-3rd 360.

They extended the warranty to a year, so if you have had it less than a year, you are good. Call them, they will send you a box, send it, and you should get it back in 6-8 weeks.

My dad does it with jewelry, sending it back to the company and he said it takes months.

^My friend sent it to Microsoft and it came back in 2 weeks, from PR to US...so I'm guessing for you americans it would be less time.

I just called and im still under warranty so they are gonna fixed it for free. I started complaining about my live subscription and that I am paying for it for nothing since im not gonna even have the system for awhile so they gave me a free month of live which made me a little happier.

I have seen the 3 red lights before, and I thought mine was dead too, but it wasn't. I asked people at a 2ksports forum, and they said to unplug my hard drive (to your system), wait a couple minutes, then plug it back in. I did that and I've never had a dilemma again, and that was months ago.

Try that and tell me if it works.

Does the warranty come automatic(even if you buy it used?) and do you need your systems pin number? (I cant give since mine is stolen)

The warranty is like a year when you bought it (so used would mean when the first owner bought it). You will probably need the serial number (I don't know, but you may be able to find it in the manual).

For some reason I had the red lights and fortunately they don't appear anymore. Serb, do you use a cooling device that connects to the back of your 360? After I took it out a lot of my problems went away.http://editorials.teamxbox.com/xbox/1651/T...ng-of-Death/p1/ Serb, this a VERY helpfull link with phone numbers that can help you.

Yeah, the intercooler or whatever it is called that you attach to the back of your console really fucks it up. The best cooler is the fan-stand, in my opinion.
