<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>BILLUPS? RUMOR STAYS ALIVE: The Chauncey Billups-to-the-Bucks? rumor just won?t fade away. The Boston Globe reported back in November Billups had interest in signing with the Bucks as an unrestricted free agent this summer. Then, at the All-Star Game in Las Vegas in February, I asked the Detroit Pistons veteran about the possibility of him signing with the Bucks. Billups said he didn?t want to discuss his future but didn?t make any attempt to squelch it, either. But late in the regular season Pistons general manager Joe Dumars publicly vowed to re-sign Billups, seemingly putting to rest any notion of Billups leaving Detroit. But now, only two weeks before the commencement of free agency, the Billups-to-Milwaukee rumor has resurfaced yet again. The scuttlebutt is the Bucks, who are one of the few teams that could have the money to sign a high-profile free agent, want an established veteran to orchestrate their offense and alleviate the pressure on star shooting guard Michael Redd. Thus, there have been whispers the Bucks are working on a lucrative offer for Billups and will try to lure him away from the Pistons.Stay tuned.</div> I can't think of a bigger mistake the Bucks could make this offseason. Good lord I hope this is hogwash.

You would kill yourself if that happened. But why are you SO against bringing Chauncey to Milwaukee? I agree it's not the best fit and I honestly don't think he's going to sign with them anyway, but why do you think it would be the biggest possible mistake this summer?
Yeah, I think Billups would be solid for the Bucks. They had one of the worst defenses in the NBA, so Billups could definatly help with that. He's probably one of the better defensive players on the market this summer. Is it that you are against brininging in Billups or that you are against paying that much money for him?
Mo Williams would be up for grabs. I know Cleveland needs a guy like Williams, but Detroit can offer him some more money because Billups will be gone. I don't think Billups leaves Detroit, he'll finish his career there. Can't wait for next year, too. Larry Hughes gonna shut down Mr.Big Shot!... Again >=)
Billups would do so much for that team. I think they'd be an instant 50 win team. Why would you be against that?Nothing wrong with having a vet run the show for the rest of your youngins.
Milwaukee should just re-sign Mo Williams. He showed alot of talent last season especially during December and early January when the Bucks were soaring. The Bucks will be able to sign Mo Williams for alot less cash (leaving money for other Free Agnets) and still get great PG contribution. Bucks signing Billups would be a mistake.
If the bucks are looking to go far in the playoffs we have to get Billups but it will be costly. If we resign mo and get other soild players we could still be pretty good with some money
