What I am scared of now is Durant or Oden becoming a Derek Coleman - for those of you who dont remember him he was a college sensation that came to the NBA and while he was a good playeer never quite lived up to what people expected, was often overweight and lacked motivation - in fact his NBA numbers is a true testament to how talented he really was - I always wonder what he would have done had he been more driven. Im worried that Seattle will get one of these guys and with thier Luck have them turn into a solid but not dominant player! What do you all think the chance of that happening is?</div>the chances are slim. Derrick Coleman was never a motivated player, even in college. Both Oden and Durant have show an inner fire to succeed and lead their team.Coleman was a bit of a spacecadet who often coasted.I mean he frustrated Chuck Daly for crying out loud. If you can't play for a two time NBA champion coach... well I'm not sure what to say. Of course coaching DC and Chris Morris could drive any man to drink.Coleman did put up some good numbers, but he had the skills to be a top ten all time talent if he put in the work.I read a quote once, I think it was Barkley not sure, that went "Imagine if you put Larry's Bird's drive and desire in the body of Derrick Coleman" the guy was so talented, gifted athletically, could shoot, rebound, pass (very underated skill of his) but he just didn't give a sh*t, he coasted on his god given talent and didn't try to be better than he had to be most nights.it was a general perception of him at the time.Durant and Oden do not have that persona.

To be dominating you have to regularly outplay your opponets, which was not the case since other centers were playing on a similar level of Shaq. Shaq was great, yes. But was he dominant? No!</div>Your an Idiot! So youv'e named 4 centre's wow! There is 30 teams in the league and the other 25 starting centre's were not putting up those numbers. All 4 you named as putting up similar numbers are headed to the Hall, Shaq was a revelation and an unstoppable dominant force since day dot. He would have been dominant (titles wise) if you gave hima scottie or a drexler to start with. THats all im saying to you- clearly you must have 2 dicks because you cant be that silly pulling one!

You guys are so straight minded. If there were 4 centers just as good as Duncan and were all winning the same amount of games, would Duncan really be dominant?

Yes...So you are saying that he's not dominant because of other hall of fame Centers? How does that make him not dominant? He averaged 29 and 12, of course he was freaking dominant. You're retarded.

You look at their dominance over what they accomplished in their careers. Now I'm getting confused because we were talking about Coleman and then we talked about Shaq and now we've moved on to Duncan??

Shaq was pretty much dominant from day 1. Were you even born when Shaq was drafted?
