Foregone conclusion and well deserved. I posted some quotes from this piece in the other threads, but there are some interesting nuggets at the bottom about Stotts.

Deserved....but if we had no cap room before, we are really going to be tight going forward. It's great that it allows Portland to keep him but I believe it will somewhat hamstring the franchise going forward.

We can thank NeO for the no Cap room -- Turner and Myers

Turner is trash and maybe Myers finally gets it but the Turner sin is so bad it counts at 2 or 3 sins in my book

Obviously, this won’t be done until all of the other off-season moves are made so it won’t affect moves this summer. But from there on out, man that’s a cap hit. No other option and definitely due given Dame’s contributions on and off the court, but it really puts the pressure on Olshey to get the roster work done this summer.

I certainly hope not. Not if he wants better players around him.

There's nothing good that can come from this. Dame's already making what, $40M/yr from the team and adidas? And who knows how much more from other advertising and his music business. Is he feeling unappreciated at that income bracket? Is that why he can't handle a double team? Will another $20M/yr make him feel more appreciated? Or will it make him less happy with the situation when the team can't afford to put quality players around him?

We're not a destination city. We need money available to spend on other players, unless we're happy fielding a D-League roster. Hell, Stotts would love it as an excuse to keep playing Aminu and Harkless.

It will be a strike against Dame in my book if he signs this, especially after choking so hard where it counts. It's a strike against the front office for me, because I don't think Dame deserves it relative to what counts.

Play hard, stay loyal, get paid.

Yes, that's just a terrible message to send to players.

Dame's contract needs to be done before we make a decision on Terry. This is one instance where his loyalty might be a detriment. I want a coaching change, but Dame would probably sour on the thought.

And the salary cap nightmare continues. In the NFL you see stars taking less money so the team can put better players around them. How often does that happen in the NBA?

Choking? Really? This team doesn't get anywhere within sniffing distance of the WCF without Lillard's leadership on and off the court. The Warriors threw everything but the kitchen sink at Lillard to try to take him away as the Blazers' primary scorer. That, coupled with an untimely injury, cut into his stats in this series, but I wonder if you think that Steph Curry, as amazing as he is, would be able to do much better if he had defenders as tough as Klay and Iggy riding his ass every time he touches the ball.

Huh? By nearly every metric, Dame deserves this. A top 10 player who keeps improving every year in the prime of his career, without much of an injury history (don't spite me, bball Gods), and is unarguably the best leader in sports doesn't deserve this?

I get the tough for team argument. But not this doesn't deserve stuff.
