or the reports are the back and forth between the teams.Wolves want green and throw in Jaric's insanely bad contract (to see how stupid we are) we come back and offer the equivilant to wolves (to see how stupid they are)it's kina like fantasy b-ball when someone offers you their table scraps for your best player and a solid starter. so you offer back your table scraps for his 3 best players.useless in the end and no one makes a trade.what happened to the Joe Johnson noise?I like that trade so much better for so many reasons (like keeping al and still getting the #11 and getting a young stud)
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (CelticBalla32 @ Jun 21 2007, 02:23 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I'm obviously cream myself if that happened, but it's likely not going to. Let's get something straight... all these "reports" are nothing more than fabricated ideas.</div>Agreed. There's no way Minnesota takes that offer. It just doesn't make sense unless Green or Al is included.
According to Chris Sheridanhttp://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2912075<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>If the Minnesota Timberwolves are listening to offers for Kevin Garnett, the player is trying to make their job easierForget Boston, is the word from the star center.Garnett's agent, Andy Miller, told ESPN.com's Chris Sheridan that Garnett made it known to the Wolves and Celtics late Wednesday that he had no interest in playing for Boston. The implication was clear: If Minnesota dealt him to Boston, Garnett would opt out of his contract next summer."The Boston trade isn't happening," Miller told Sheridan on Thursday. "If a trade were to happen, that's not a destination that we're interested in pursuing."Asked where Garnett would prefer to be dealt, Miller replied: "Too early. Ask me in two days."Garnett has "a good handle on the possibility of being traded," Miller said. "Kevin is an extremely loyal person, and loyalty is not a common factor among pro athletes, but in this situation he understands he has to put his long-term considerations ahead of the Minnesota Timberwolves' long-term considerations."Kevin McHale, the Timberwolves' vice president of basketball operations, has been pressed of late on Minnesota-Boston discussions over Garnett following Danny Ainge's admission to The Boston Herald that he has talked to McHale about Garnett."Who knows what's going to happen?" McHale told reporters Wednesday after the Wolves worked out college stars Jeff Green and Al Horford in preparation for the draft. "But we're not out there actively shopping Kevin Garnett around the NBA. I can tell you that much."Because Garnett can opt out of his contract after next season, the Timberwolves run the risk of losing him without compensation if they don't trade him before then and he tires of not playing on a competitive team. That has ramped up speculation that he could be on the move, and the possible destinations are popping up all over the place as they always do this time of year.</div>

This deal is dead. I will now enjoy watching Garnett most likely go the rest of his career without a title and then chase one pathetically like Karl Malone as it nears it's end.On the bright side at least this stops Ainge from moronically dealing away Al Jefferson and the rest of the young nucleus for a two or three year outside shot at getting swept in the NBA Finals.

If he is indeed traded a large possibility would be the Phoenix Suns, and if a deal would send him there, they would probably be considered the favorites for the 08 finals.

That has to be taken into the equation as well.
Screw that....No way would KG coming in lead this team to a championship...He is getting older and older and he could opt out of his contract in 2 years anyways. Giving up Al who had a GREAT year, Gerald who has tons of potential to be great, and a #5 pick in a very good draft, along with two other players...no way in hell this would ever happen.

The gain of Garnett would be greater than the loss of Marion/Barbosa, and the Suns want to win now, so the pick is of less importance to them.
I'm thinking 3 way deal to get it done.Ainge will try to be part of it I would imagine. So long as that dipstick doesn't give up Al, Paul or Rondo.
To make you guys' day better, Ric Bucher reported that Shawn Marion also does not want to come to Boston. Yay!

Do some preparation before posting next time, although your contributions to the forum are probably just like what you apparently consider an orgasm; short and sweet.

I would prefer us to make a deal or two for SOME kind of veterans. Getting a star seems very unlikely, so our best option may be to hold onto the pick and make a couple small deals for decent veterans... or maybe trade down for a pick and a veteran. I think we still have some options, but Ainge can't be getting much sleep at night.

The proposed trade that would have sent Kevin Garnett to Boston, agreed to in principle by ex-teammates Kevin McHale and Danny Ainge, was taken off the table Thursday after Garnett got word to the Celtics that he doesn't want to play for them.Garnett, according to sources close to the situation, is hoping for a trade to the Phoenix Suns if he has to leave the only team he has ever played for.http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2912075
So much for that idea, I dont know why he wouldnt want to go there it would be a perfect fit and now more then likely he will end up stuck on the twolves for another season. I was hoping he would go the the celtics because hes wasting his life with the twolves.
