    There's a difference between being critical and being insulting, and it's not a fine line. It's quite obvious, and the Oregonian was quite obviously on the other side of it, and apparently unapologetically so. McGowan and the Blazers are well within their rights to take offense and respond accordingly.

    I've never called anyone a libtard, and I think the Oregonian leans "left", not sure if it's "liberal", but maybe if liberals don't like it and people on the "right" don't like it then maybe it's sort of balanced...? I don't know I don't really read it anymore.

    I don't know who owns it anymore, but I seem to recall that it was owned by a very conservative group (as nearly all media is, which is why the larger idea of a liberal media is such a joke) at some point in the recent past. But because of their largest audience, they had to hedge and "appear" liberal. But to say they represent a liberal viewpoint is utterly laughable.

    The Oregonian has always been corporate conservative. It isn't as bad in terms of being cultural conservative as many papers around the country, but it never was and never will be a leftist paper. I agree they have to sometimes try to appear progressive, because, Portland.
