In the Bucks boards we are debating the idea of his signing pretty hard...and I want to know everything about him, good or bad, what his future in his thirties might be, would it be smart to sign him to a $50 million deal when he'll be 31 next year? ect. Thanks guys. I know a lot about Billups, but you guys watch him all the time, I want your opinions.
Things I Like* Leadership* He's very strong.* He's clutch.* Great passing ability. * He's a chemistry guy, very friendly.* Very little turnovers.* He's like the assistant coach almost, he's always telling his team the plays he wants to run.Things I don't like* He get's cocky sometimes.* He takes some stupid 3's...one and done kinda thing.* Plays down to his opponent a lot.* Sometimes he forgets that he's a point gaurd.

Billups would be a great signing for The Bucks, he can spread the floor for Micheal Redd and make him get more open looks. The Bucks would go from 7-8th seed in the East, to 5-6th. OK, maybe higher. They wouldn't be down there in the division, either.
He ain't going to Milwaukee, so don't get your hopes up too high. And if you think he's going to Cleveland, keep on dreaming too.
Chauncey is coming to good ole Tennessee...Atleast I hope he does...he always murders Memphis late in games...

I disagree, people around the league realize that last season was a fluke, with a Billups, we can be a 5th or 6th seed easily IMO. But id rather have a Mo Williams...

We may contend for a playoff spot, maybe, but saying a 5 or 6 seed, even with Billups, is stetching it a little IMO. The Grizzlies are still in some trouble. We had a lot of organization problems last season that contributed a little to our lack of success, and they aren't all solved yet. Our star player wants out, and we have a new coach and new GM who aren't proven. Not to mention, last time I checked, the team is still looking for a new owner. Anytime a franchise has issues within the organization, it's a turnoff for a player. Which leads me back closer to the topic, Detroit and Milwaukee may seem a little more attractive for Billups. I would definatly love for Billups to come to Memphis though.
Well, you can look at our situation like that...or a bit brighter seeing that our organization is a bit rejuvenated, Gasol is outve his mind...I agree...but the team is off the market as Heisley said...so we really dont have any new issues except for a new GM and coach...and which teams get new coaches all the time(including this memphis team, who btw went to the playoffs with a new coach)...so the situation isnt as terrible as your making it out to be. Look at Iavaroni, he said he came to Memphis frankly because the Grizzlies are in a good situation...you can go on about it but I dont think its as bad as your making it. You couldve made a case two weeks ago...but everything is just about settled besdies Gasols issue...but hes been like that for a while...
Billups is one of the few point guards that can actually post up effectively. He's probably the second best defender at the position, next to JKidd.I don't know how he will perform in 3-4 years, if he will end up like Gary Payton is now. A backcourt of Redd and Billups would be the best in the league, bar none.
Billups is a guy who will take all of those losses the team has had of 5-6 points and make 75% of them wins. He's that big of a difference maker. That is why I think without Billups, the Pistons could be a potential lottery team. I think you could possibly see the Pistons take the Bucks record, and the Bucks become a top 3 team if Billups were to move to the Bucks.I would not worry about his age at all. His game does not rely on quickness at all. Billups is a smart player and uses that more often then not. He also uses his strength. And of course his age will not effect his passing and shooting ability, or his leadership qualities.Billups is worth every penny of a 50 million dollar contract and should be worth it for the next 4 seasons easy.

I think he can still play well at 34-35, and he will make a big difference on any teams he goes to.

Sometimes during games, either when he hasn't been taking too many shots, or when he's really hot, he'll forget there are four other guys on the floor. He'll just go one on one with his defender, leaving his teammates standing around to watch. Also, there will be times during a game, often during fast breaks or in a "dagger" type situation when he launches up an ill-advised three, that leaving you saying "What the F*ck Chauncey" but many of those times you'll be saying "What the fu" as the ball swishes through the net for three.
All of you need to stop acting like Chauncey is going to come to your team. Its already been said that Billups is most likely going to re-sign.
