Yeah, and I think we have remember that he didn’t start playing basketball until he was 12 or 13. Similar to Nurkic in that regard. He grew up playing soccer and volleyball. So he’s still more raw than most players his age. It’s crazy when you watch guys like Nurk and Skal show off a versatile skill set while showing plus instincts, and then compare to someone who’s been playing the sport for a lot longer still hesitate to inbound the ball. It’s why I believe the mind is what ultimately separates players at the highest level, not talent.

They don't. They don't dive a shit about us. They just come ready to play.

It's actually our fans that hate them.

I’d take either one on the Blazers.

Skal looked GREAT. Remember this skinny kid at Kentucky?:

Looks like he's been in the weight room.

He was making moves I teach my guards.

That jab step/rip through to the three pointer is next level for a player his size.

The jab step through 2 defenders to finish strong on the left side was beastly.

That kings game gets put on Anfernee but Skal was pretty awesome in that game too.

What encourages me about that video is how fluid Skal looks, and how he seems to be filling out.

There's never been a question about his shooting touch or his athletic potential ... really like his first step. But he just hasn't looked ultra-coordinated. He seemed awkward. It made him play smaller than he was.

Here he's smooth. He's getting nice extension on his shots with a very high arc. The touch still is there.

Man, if he could get it together in the next year or two, he'd be a heck of an asset for the Blazers.

IMO, Skal's floor should be Channing Frye. He could be a lot better than that. But, at the very least, he should be able to carve a decent niche in this league as a shooting big off the bench. Really should be better than Meyers in that respect; his shot is quicker and more natural.

Couldn't crack the rotation on a lotto team, got traded for an empty uniform, but he is going to be a contributor on a play-off team? Sorry, but this smacks of grasping at straws.

Wouldn’t be the first time, wouldn’t be the last time. Some rejects, undrafted players and players who were turned down by multiple teams are now playing in the NBA Finals, even.

I'd find that argument more persuasive if people stopped using it for Leonard! :smiley-beljise_har:

One was acquired for our starting center, the other for our 13th man. Bit of a difference!

    Or were you joking?

No, Im talking about brb in terms of a guy who wasnt playing on a lottery team coming in and helping a playoff team. Thats exactly what Nurk was, so why cant Skal do the same...?
