Who cares about blames? I honestly don't give a rat whose fault it is. Why does it even matter? Will someone get sued? Will someone lose their job? I only want to know one thing: How do we adjust our plans, so that we can beat the Freaking Warriors next season in the playoffs? Do we still need Kanter ? Do we need to load on defensive guards to stop Klay and Steph and not worry so much about SF and PF? We might need to sign Beverly instead of Kanter...
Warriors didn't give a fuck about KD. He was a ring chaser and they treated him like one knowing he was going to slither to NY. If this was Curry, he would never have been cleared to play. Now they will be stuck paying KD max money for what will be, at best Glen Rice.
Why do we put pro athletes and movie stars on pedestals? I know they are huge capitalist industries, but the players are well paid to perform an mega stars always have their way, so KD probably felt all was clear and well enough to compete. He also is responsible. He could have done a Leonard in SA and refused to go, but Charles is blaming the warriors only?
Back in Chuck's day, teams would force guys to play hurt. Now, stars can sometimes force the team to let them play. I doubt the Warriors forced Durant to do anything. But they did "allow" him to play. Maybe the medical staff didn't have enough certainty as to his status to override the player and the coaches. We don't know. Neither does Chuck.
Because they can do things random humans can't. No they don't. Medical staff and everyone is involved. Just like Chuck said, Players will always want to play. Golden state should NOT have played him. Had they been up 3-1 they woulnd't have and I believe if it were Curry they would NOT have played him. This is on GSW.
don't agree completely...pro athletes play injured all the time, even Klay and Iggy and Looney were playing injured. Curry has played injured before. Look at how many football players that play injured. Leonard isn't 100%. Plus it was his Achilles not his calf, different injury. KD wanted to play and I'm sure he's was going to get his way. I understand your opinion just have a bit different take. Thats cool...
Yes, I'm sure he lied that Durant's doctors and agent were also involved. How could he ever be caught in such a lie?
Kind of weird to me how many people have come out and said oh their lying, it was already hurt like it's factual... How would we know? Also, a guy like KD has a lot of say on if he's playing or not, has agents, doctors (both team and his own). He may have known it was a risk and decided to play anyways, but chances are the team couldn't make him do anything... We'll probably never know the truth of what they knew or didn't know...
I agree. Is it possible that the Warriors did something sinister? Sure...anything is possible. But I think dislike of the organization is driving the 100% certainty in some that they were mustache-twirling villains. None of us know what took place within the organization or what the medical reports looked like. And it's pretty hard to believe, in this day and age, that the player has no information except what the team chooses to tell him, especially a superstar player with plenty of his own resources. This isn't a poor college athlete. That's pretty well borne out by the fact that Durant had his own doctors, and his agent, involved. His agent is not going to be pushing the team's interests over his client's, nor are Durant's own doctors.
Wait a minute here. How many people looked at that original injury and said "Achilles"? Over and over again people said this isn't calf injury it's Achilles. Now all the sudden the calf injury caused the Achilles injury? You want to give them the benefit of the doubt i'm cool with that. But nobody anywhere is gonna convince me this was not an Achilles injury from the beginning. He just made it much worse by choosing to play on it. That was his decision also. Not the organizations. Nobody put a gun to his head and told him to play.
Every time a player injures their Achilles, without fail, they look back to "see who kicked them". "holding onto his right Achilles" "you know exactly what that means".
Because we wouldn't be able to see them otherwise, they are so damn short. Not a one of them is taller than 5'2" in real life. barfo
Its kind of like the youngster with a cigarette hanging out of their mouth, makes them feel 10' tall.
I saw it when it happened and thought achilles. However, none of us “know”, they could be telling the truth, none of us will ever know. To come across and condemn the whole team, their doctors, his doctors, his agent, him, etc as all liars, seems sort of unlikely. Could be that they misdiagnosed it. Could be that they all decided together it was ok to play on, who knows.
WTF are you talking about? Hate?? Just because I don't trust what they said?? How is that hate? People need to stop using that word out of context.
