"Because Walker was named to an All-NBA team this season, the Hornets can offer him a five-year "supermax" contract worth up to $221 million - significantly more than the five-year, $190 million deal had he not been named All-NBA. Other NBA teams can only offer a four-year deal worth $140 million when free agency begins June 30."
Because the players are pretty average at best? I actually like Lonzo and Hart may be the best of the three, but Ingram is meh. He's been riding those KD comparisons from when they were merely hopeful to where they are not just sad.
The Sixers, who must also make a call on Tobias Harris in free agency, can offer Butler a five-year deal worth $188 million.
This doesnt make me mad, so much as its like I just cant believe the Pelicans got so little. Like that haul conpletely sucks, they didnt get out of hills contract. They basically gave AD away...
It's hard to believe the Lakers offered more than other teams. Maybe the offers from the rest of the NBA just weren't that great. That is a possibility.
I sure am glad the Blazers didn't go all in to get him and have him walk next year. I'm also glad it wasn't all over the news that they were offering anyone and everyone except Dame to get him. Lakers gave up the pick they truly needed to get another franchise player. Now they are gonna have to put a team together around Bron and Davis. That is a good start but as it sits? The Blazers are a better team and would win a 7 game series. Lets all see how this shakes out.
Lakers should spend the rest of their money building depth instead of getting another star. lBJ and AD is enough if they are healthy. If they choose the right role players they are gonna be contenders. Actually either way they will be contenders. This sucks. Lonzo and Zion should be fun.
2 days ago i said on the AD thread that Griffin isn't stupid, i was wrong. Griffin is VERY stupid. Ball is trash, Ingram has a blood clot issue like Chris Bosh and those picks will be GARBAGE after this year. They could have gotten a way better deal. I would take the Knicks picks+Knox and Robinson or Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Heat pick (which might be top3) in a heartbeat. Jesus, i bet the Sixers would've deeply considered AD for Simmons... Isn't it incredible? the league might finally get rid of one evil empire, yet it all balances out with the rise of an old evil empire. Good for the Lakers and the league. Almost a decade of completely incompetent management is rewarded by a contending roster.
