    From what I've seen --

They'd be interested in pairing Horford if they get Kawhi.

In terms of shooting Conley is a huuuuge improvement compared to Rubio. I guess now they ll try look for some cheap wings. Ingles is far better than Crowder btw but Crowder was useful indeed.

They still have some good space available if they sign Favors on a cheaper deal. They have something like 10M which is decent.

He is rumored to re-sign with Boston and Brooklyn is showing strong interest.

There's gonna be a lot of 1 year deals. Our best bet is probably waiting until the field clears and then have our pick of the remains.

Dumpster diving is Olshey's strength anyways.

Make a move with what -- Evan Turner , Myers , Harkless -- These are not exactly hot pieces people want atm -- nothing against any of these 3 players -- correction i hate Turner and want him gone ASAP but the other 2 are ok to solid and i could take them or leave them at this point. I do think NeO might have a move up his sleeve but i think it might be best to wait to see where some FA's land and teams that want to move on from a player who no longer fits in a teams plans for whatever reason. IF portland makes a big move it will be after the 1st wave or 2 of FA's sign not before then outside of maybe packaging the 1st and Turner for a Pizza and a Case of Soda or something.

Fuck it. In light of this Conley trade, I'd be willing to trade 3 1sts for Griffin. 25 + 2 future firsts or 25 + 1 future first + Simons.

I'll even give two firsts for Kevin Love if they take all 3 of our albatrosses and they throw in JR Smith's partially guaranteed contract. Should open up some room for the full MLE.

We actually no longer have albatrosses, we have ending contracts which are actually valuable - especially at the deadline.

Griffin and Love, now THOSE are albatrosses.

Posted this in the Conley thread, but Love and Griffin aren't really the analogs to Conley. Conley has a much shorter contract and an ETO in 20-21, while Griffin's will end in 22 and Love i n23.

LaMarcus Aldridge is the comp we're looking for.

They definitely are not valuable now. The argument against moving them at the deadline is that you don't get said player for most of this current season, and you don't have the time to integrate them in training camp.

Also re: Griffin/Love, I'll bet on talent any day, contracts be damned. We saw in the playoffs the team with the most talent wins. No one thought Griffin could be moved when he signed that deal, and he was dealt with relative ease. Don't think the Pistons would trade him even now for anything less than 2 or 3 firsts.

Good Lord, I'm looking at contracts in 20-21 and just realized Otto Porter will be making 28.5 mil and Tim Hardaway Jr will be at 19. Some of these numbers are ridiculous. Dame on his current deal will be the 10th highest paid player (given current numbers) at 31 mil.

He's not wrong. The roster in March/April is more important than what comes out after August.

Given that the market is glutted with expiring deals, why would our expiring deals have value? It's simple supply and demand.

Yeah the earlier trade deadline helps a little. (Feb. 6, 2020)

    Haters gonna hate.
    Lover gonna love.
    Expiring Contracts gonna expire.

Even if you're right, and the contracts have little value to other teams (which I don't think is right),
they have value TO US - they expire.

We have their replacements right now. We won't get cap space, but we will get valuable cap flexibility.

We can have cap space next year. The only players under contract are Dame/CJ/Nurk/Rookie scale deals. There are ways to maneuver ourselves into a max slot or close to one.

The FA class sucks though. Outside of Davis (who isn't coming) and Draymond (questionable for multiple reasons), there isn't anyone that's worth a max slot.
