Sun-Sentinel<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Miami Heat have inquired about Sacramento Kings' forward Ron Artest, but the Kings aren't enamored with what the Heat have to offer in return, and believe they can fetch more elsewhere, should they choose to move Artest. The Heat are offering Udonis Haslem and Jason Williams.</div>Link
Re: Heat's Offer For Artest Turned Down? Good move by the Kings. Just J-Will and Udonis? Not enough, easily.
Re: Heat's Offer For Artest Turned Down? Haha, they expected to get Artest with that offer? They have Bibby, no need for J will and he can't seem to stay healthy anyways.
Re: Heat's Offer For Artest Turned Down? I'm not surprised. J-Will will get you nowhere long term. He's an aging PG that still has it, but long term this is not a good player to acquire.Udonis Haslem is a defensive guy, and a rebounder...He's a good player, but I don't think he has much upside in him, and this deal is not enough to justify for Artest, even though he's undoubtedly the biggest headcase in the game.
Re: Heat's Offer For Artest Turned Down? I don't think it was that bad of an idea. Haslem would give the Kings some toughness inside, something they don't have with Thomas and Rahim. He is not a great scorer, but he can score some inside, he's not a liability on the scoring end thats for sure. He plays good man to man defense, not great, but good. Like I said though, he provides them some toughness, and someone that will go inside and bang with the other team, while also playing solid defense and forcing the guys like Brand, Duncan, Gasol and to work harder for their points on offense. Then they get Williams, who when healthy would give them a very good player off the bench that can hit shots, drive to the lane, and make good passes. On the other end, they get rid of a head case and someone that is nothing but problems. Offensively he doesn't Artest doesn't like to play within the offense often times, forces bad shots, and generally makes it hard to keep good offensive rythm going. Defensively he is great, but offensively he can make it hard on your offense. Your also never sure when he is going to do something wrong to cause your team to have problems. As well as trading him would allow them to pick up and play Julian Wright at that 10th spot, because they just got a solid power forward that will help them out alot for a while to come, and keep the team heading young with Haslem at the four, Wright at the 3, and Martin at the 2, a solid group of young guys to have in my opinion. I really dont think it was that bad of a trade idea.

I rather have them starting for me then just getting bench minutes, and theyll both better then artest to me. so I would rather get my young guys to play and see how they develop during the season progresses.
