Now before you call me crazy , I tihnk its possible.Serioulsly, I really think that they will resign Rashard and then trade him. He put up good numbers so getting a good player in return is a definate possibility! Perhaps a J'Oneal or Gasol someone like that, I really think if the sonics are proactive we can have a really good looking team next year - now a point gaurd would really help us too, so there is a few spots to fill but with lets say O'neal , Durant and Allen thats pretty hot base to start from. I just hope that Presti activly usees Rashard to get someone- he Does have some value! Now Im not sying a top 4 finish but I think we could be vying for the 8th spot! I dont think we could get billups for lewis and change but that would be cool! Starting 5BillupsAlenDurantWilcox One of our many stiffs. That looks pretty solid to me.THoughtsMainly Im interest in who you all think we could get for Lewis?

I don't think the Sonics will be a playoff team next season. They are in a rebuilding stage, or should be atleast. If they sign and trade Lewis, they will only get rebuilding pieces for him. All the teams who are interested in Lewis will be teams looking to contend and won't trade away important pieces to obtain him, but will trade young players, expiring contracts, and picks. This team just needs to try to rebuild around Durant right now.

He averaged 22 points last season, which is his highest career total so far, so it seems he's only getting better. But, it seems like the only teams really going after him right now are contending teams (Rockets), who won't trade any big name players, or young teams (Celtics), who only have younger players to trade. So, most likely, the Sonics would get young players and picks for Lewis, which will not help them make the playoffs in the immediete future. Which leads to what I said, I don't think the Sonics will make the playoffs next season.

I dont think the sonics are going to make the playoffs next year as well. most likely im pretty sure lewis is gone. they got lucky being able to get the 2nd pick and able to get durant to feel that spot up. but it would be possible to trade lewis for a decent big man that s better then what you guys have have right now. if you can get a big man that can get you at leas 15 and 10 ill say youll be 8th or 9 spot in the west.

Just under 3 weeks ago, you made this post: http://www.bballworld.us/forum/2-pick-our-...our-t30741.html Hmmm...

I don't think the Sonics are going to be a playoff team next year. The West is too strong, and you have even more "up-and-coming" teams to go along with it. I like Portland's chances better than Seattles, and I also like Memphis' better if they hold on to Gasol. Seattle needs a post option, a deeper bench, and they need to improve defensively a great deal.

He is really their only good rebounding big man out of them all, Curry doesn't give his all with rebounding and there was a few games this season where he had more turnovers than rebounds, and the rest of their big men can't rebound either. So I think giving up David Lee by himself is not smart for the Knicks. When you throw in Channing Frye with him, it's a rip off for the Knicks in my opinion. As for the playoffs, I don't see the Sonics making the playoffs this year. Behind Wilcox none of their big men are consistent, their point guards are inconsistent, drafting Durant gives them the same type of player as Rashard Lewis, so pretty much they will look the same next year as what they did this year. The only thing that will help them is a new coach, as anyone is better than Bob Hill.

Without that, they are stuck with pretty much the same team that they had last year, just Durant in Lewis's spot. So I think the big deal is if they can get a sign and trade, if they can't, and he just leaves in free agency, then I see them not being to much better than this year.

If Carmelo can lead the Nuggets to the playoffs in his first season then I don't see why Durant can't lead his future team ''the Supersonics'' to the playoffs, sure there to completly different teams but they both have around the same talent in comparision.
