Yeah, okay. I'm not quite sure what game you're watching, but even as frustrated as I am with Stotts's coaching, I realize a lot of it has to do with the limitations of the roster he's given, particularly with the forwards.
The game I am watching is this one: Lillard gets a double team by the Warriors. The Blazer player who was a moment ago standing next to him is now wide open going towards the hoop (the roller), nobody is defending him on that side of the court, he's 7'1",shooting well in this particular game. How in the world does Dame not pass him the ball? Yet, he does not. Instead, he passes the ball across the court instead of towards the hoop to an open teammate. The Blazers did not score on that possession. I don't know if that is Terry Stotts, but for me, Lillard is a mixed bag as a playmaker. He seems to be able to make excellent passes, but also seems many times to choose not to make them. Maybe the it's the "trust" thing. It doesn't seem to be a problem for Golden State. Curry will make the pass to a guy who might not be there next season. That could be the Stotts influence.
Because its easy to say "MAKE THE RIGHT PASS" when you're watching on TV. It's different when you're in Dame's shoes, with Andre Iguodala and Draymond Green's long arms in your face. Why do you think playmakers like Draymond Green are so hard to find in the first place? Dame isn't a perfect playmaker, but he commands attention, and he's shown the ability to make plays over his entire career. Mo has NEVER shown any kind of playmaking. That's why he doesn't get the opportunities.
When a player only shoots 52 3's the whole season the variance is just under 2% for every 3 he makes or misses. That means if he had made just 5 more 3's he'd have shot almost 37% and he would've likely went in the top-10. On the flip side if he missed 5 more than he did he would've shot just over 17% from 3. I don't know if that means he'll be a good shooter or a terrible one but anytime 5 shots going in or out over the course of a full season makes that big of a difference I think it's too small of a sample size to know exactly. His shot looks decent enough to me to the point that I'm not worried about it yet.
Unless you are using formal logic, in which case you are indicating negation, and why the eff are you using numbers in logic? Though, usually ≈ is used to indicate approximately equal to.
Your right about actual height but he still 6'6" with shoes plus great wingspan and great reach. He also have a good vertical jump. He also already have NBA body that can finish at the hoop. He also can his player off the dribble that none our forward can.
Very good article, and by a young woman whose name is an obvious cross between Minas Tirith and Darth Vader - so, nerd cred.
That was really good. Smart, elite athlete, hard working, relatively raw (I didn’t know he didn’t start playing basketball until he was 12) and fits perfectly in Portland’s culture. Man if (when?) he puts it all together....
Check out the comments. So many people think he'll be a better pro when he's unleashed. I can't wait to see him in SL.
