I don't like this. Yes, Turner had a terrible contract, but he also had PG skills and was a solid defender and could score in the low post. Most importantly, if we were to trade for Kevin Love, it would be using his contract. This trade is an acknowledgement that that's not happening. Also it looks like an acknowledgement that we're losing either or both of Hood and Aminu. And Bazemore's contract is at least as bad (cost-to-talent) as Turner. Yeah, I like this less the more I think about it. Turner had talents that we needed, whereas Bazemore duplicates Harkless and Little.
Simons and Bazemore is probably our second unit backcourt. I like. Bazemore isn’t a lead guard, but he can handle the ball and is a solid defender. At least from what I remember.
Depends on if the market dries up. There is a lot of money this summer but even more players thinking they are getting money.
If Turner is what we needed, why was he not used more in the playoffs? Harkless has one year left on his contract and Little has not proved anything yet.
I said the same earlier. I mean, there's no reason not to make this deal, but it certainly gives hope there's more to come. I still would not be surprised to see a CJ deal, not that I'm expecting one (and I think this season proved they can play together and we can be successful). NO is upgrading at SG and talking up the talent of Anfernee Simons all in the same week?
This means my fantasy of using the tax MLE on Markieff is alive! And it’s been mentioned before, but we can now forget about Kevin love, and Gordon Hayward.
I see this as a win because Stotts won't think he has to play Bazemore like he thought he had to play Turner.
Bazemore is 1 year removed from shooting 39% on threes on a good number of attempts per game. He's a career 35% shooter. He's not great but he's better than Mo, Chief and ET.
I hope so. A vet who comes cheap or a youngster they can groom. Either way they need one on the roster,
