We should have actually got a backup PG and not rely on Turner's PG skills in the 2nd unit anyway. Bazemore can handle the ball, he is not Harkless or Aminu. He is also a good defender and a much better shooter than Turner. Yes he is not JJ Redick of course but he is an almost 10% better shooter from 3 point line and he shoots high volume from there as well. If you cannot get a better player like Porter, Love etc then at least trade a garbage, non factor for an actual rotation player.
does This mean Harkless stays? If Hood is gone there isn’t as much of a need to clear salary. I don’t mind Harkless staying. I think Aminu is gone though, and we give the MLE to a power forward that can shoot.
Harkless is 1 year removed from shooting 42% on three's; granted is was on less then half the three's Bazemore shot. But Bazemore is under 72% in career FT% and his career TS% is 52%. He's not a good shooter. Better than ET though
Bazemore can play SF but he is slightly undersized. I would still start Harkless (but have a quick hook with him).
I hated seeing his name on the internetz because at first glance I always thought it involved the Blazers.
Volume is pretty important when talking about 3PT shooting. We always have this argument with Leonard right? He's a career 39% 3-point shooter, but he really he isn't. Talking strictly jumpshooting. Obviously Harkless and Aminu are much better finishing at the rim.
Not a big fan of either player but I’ll take Bazemores shooting over ETs whatever for a season. I also agree Stotts won’t feel obligated to play him if he’s not productive like he obviously did with ET. I don’t think either will be or would of been here the following season so it’s a win.
He mentioned in his Paul Allen comments that July 1 was when you can get the big deals. He's no way done, imo!
