I just read that it won't have a franchise mode. Why is this game worth having if you don't have any NFL personalities or a chance to watch a team/franchise grow? And they don't have number ratings, just a list of positive and negative skills. What a dissapointment, I was really looking forward to this game, looks like another year without a football game for me. I read in the article where one of the developers mentioned the game having no franchise mode and he pretty much said, 'well, too bad you can't have everything.' Ugh. What a joke.
I have never head of this game until now. Wtf is APF? Is this just a game of legends or something? I looked this up on IGN. Idk what this game is
It's essentially the continuation of the NFL 2k series, now that EA has the licence, they are just making a football game without the NFL licence. I hate Madden's gameplay/graphics...and it's made by EA...*pukes*. For whatever reason NFL legends can be used, the game isn't for NFL legends, they are just in the game like another football game.
2KSports should just quit on football and focus on their mainstay- basketball. EA really cut their balls off by getting that license- and to me it did more good to 2K than harm, since they have improved the NBA/College Hoops series a LOT and have really widened the gap even further between EA and them in that department.
This would be a great game if it had a franchise mode....but without one there's no reason for me and tons of other fans to buy it. :no1:

2K makes the best football games. I think NFL 2K5 is the best football game ever made, even better than Madden 2007 for the PS3. Most of the people who put down NFL's 2K games, has never played one. The gameplay and graphics are beyond amazing.I was playing NFL 2K2 the other day, and the graphics were better than Madden 2006.

Even now after almost 2 1/2 years I fire up the 2k5 on regular XBOX and the graphics are fantastic, one of my top 5 games ever, the graphics and player models are so much better than Madden's.

To me, football games are all about gameplay, and Madden has always had that over 2K.
I had the one with TO on it, I think that was the last one they made, 2K5. I don't play it any more because it has a glitch. After the kick off return it freezes. It was a good game while it lasted. I wasn't to crazy about their game play, playbook was weak. Even if there was a NFL 2K8, Madden will always be the superior football game. One thing I liked about NFL 2K over Madden is you could create your own team. You can do that on Madden, but you could put anyone from the whole NFL on your team in 2K. Like I would make a team of my favorites and stuff. I wont buy this APF 2K8. 60 bucks for Madden 08 is already a pathetic price

I played Madden in competitions and in my Madden league. It definitely was deeper as far as playbooks etc. Madden is the real football gamer's strategy game; 2K was for the presentation.
No, they're not 10x better. It doesn't matter though, my opinion won't change. I would take NFL 2K5 over any football game out right now.

The NFL 2k games were much better then Madden. I was an old-school Madden fan from back in the SNES days until I bought a dreamcast and played NFL 2k and it changed my outlook on football games. I quit Madden from then on until Madden 06 came out and NFL 2k was outdated. I agree though that 2k makes a much better sports game period than ea does although Madden is also a very good game.
