David Lee had nothing to do with any Warriors championship runs. He only has 1 ring, and he missed 40 games that season. He was a DNP- Coach’s decision in half of the Warriors playoff games that year, and played small minutes in 4 finals games, while not appearing in the other 2.

Moe Speights also had very little to do with these championship “runs”. And by “runs” I mean one, because Mo Speights has one ring. He also played less than 5 min in every finals game that year, with game 5 being the exception. He played 11 min that game because Cleveland blew Golden State out.

Barbosa played one season in Golden State on a vet min and averaged 5 ppg in the finals. He had a total of 2 assists and 10 rebounds in the entire series.

Livingston has never averaged more than 6 points and 3 assists with GS.

Once again, you are remembering these guys being way better than they actually were. You don’t think these guys are guys who teams like Houston LAL or whoever can find in FA?

You don’t even need a system. LeBron/AD or AD/LeBron P&R is literally unguardable.

Especially when they add a 3rd star.

They should be able to find an additional 3&D plus they have Kuz on top of that already.

    Kemba/Russell/Kawhi
    Vet Min
    Kuz
    LeBron
    AD

That lineup doesn’t need a system

You always need a system... even the Cavs had a system.

See, now this shit is getting irrational and ridiculous .

Our very own Allen Crabbe waived his trade kicker to go to BKN.

Players waive their trade kickers all the time.

I don't see Kawhi going to L@kers, so it's hard for me to bend that far.

Yeah, the Kyrie Irving and LeBron take turns isolating system. Sprinkle in an occasional Love or Thompson ball screen and BOOM! ... “system”. Lol

Systems in general have kind of gone extinct

The NBA game is so P&R / pick-and-pop driven now.

Offensive strategies have basically just become hunting guys on switches , with some dribble-drive principles.

Several teams still run great early offense, ATOs ,and quick hitters. But as far as within the game offense, it’s pretty much all ballscreens

That’s a lot of disrespect for Paxon, Hodges, Armstrong, and Cartwright.

well, if you're counting Nurkic then you have to count Oladipo since they have about the same timeline for return

    so at SG:

    Harden
    Butler
    Oladipo
    Middleton
    Holiday
    Beal
    Klay (when he returns)

I'd rate all those above better, and then I'd put CJ in a tier with Devin Booker, Jamal Murray, Donovan Mitchell, Demar Derozan, & Zach Lavine. And I'm probably forgetting somebody. You can argue that CJ is better than this player or that player but the reality is he isn't enough better to make a difference

the issue is that just trying boil it down to SG presents distortion of the reality. When you start tallying up perimeter players, CJ probably doesn't even crack the top-20. And that still leaves players like the Greek, Draymond, Jokic, Embiid, Griffin, Porzingis, Gobert, KAT, and AD

what a team needs is a couple of players in the top-10, or a player in the top-5 and an all-star or two. Portland has one who is probably in the top-10, and then neither Nurkic or CJ would crack the top-30. That's a template with little upside

None of those dudes did anything without Jordan. They were all scrubs without him.

I think it’s close, but CJ has shown to be a killer in the playoffs.

    * Cartwright was 34 and averaged 8 points and 5 rebounds

    * Hodges averaged 4 points in less than 10 minutes and in the playoffs, averaged 2.5 points in 8 minutes and had 5 DNP-CD's

    * Paxson and Armstrong combined to average 15 points and 5 assists in the playoffs

I wouldn't call these guys scrubs, but they absolutely low-level role players. Jordan was GOAT. Pippen was a top-10 player and a top-5 defender. Grant was named to the all-NBA 2nd team defense 4 times. That's where the championships came from. Chicago could have plugged dozens of different players into the supporting cast and still won championships. They proved that by three-peating twice
