<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (yankshater213 @ Jun 23 2007, 12:14 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Well I'd absolutely love to say the Celtics, but we all know full well how their season will turn out before anything even happens. Here's to winning the lottery next year! PS. Just don't tank again.</div>The Celtics have a fair chance to emerge. They are a very young team and Al Jefferson is making significant improvements. I dont know if itll be next year but the celtics are overdue for a breakout season. It all depends on how Delonte and AJ improve this offseason. They will have to step up if the C's want to make it back to the playoffs.
New Orleans could make the playoffs as a 6-8 seed in the West next year if they can stay healthy. They've got a good roster: Paul, West, Chandler, Stojakavic, etc. All they need to do is select a SG in the draft (Nick Young), and they're good to go. This team can compete when healthy, even in the West. I also don't expect the Celtics to suck as bad as they did in the '06-07 season (record-wise). They had a banged up squad, not to mention they did tank some games later on in the season.. They need to add some veterans around the young core they have because they have a good roster filled with talented young players.
I expect the Grizzlies to win around 35 games next season. We still have some talent in our roster. We finally have some stability at coach, and instead of learning a new offense in the middle of the season, we have the whole summer to perfect it. We have the 4th pick in the draft where we can hopefully sign Horford. And if we can add a good FA, maybe Mo Williams, and keep Gasol, I like our chances at making the playoffs as a 7 or 8 seed.LineupC- GasolPF- HorfordSF- GaySG- MillerPG- Mo WilliamsIt's still a young team. I expect Gay to average around 15 a game next season with increased playing time and a offensive style more suitable to him. Miller I feel will average around 18 again, and of course Gasol, the usual 20-9. We'll see though, it should be interesting.
I honestly think the Knicks have a good chance to. Assuming the roster remains the same, they WILL make the playoffs. If they didn't have a ton of injuries last season they would've made the 7th spot and could've played spoiler. I expect them to win the Atlantic and make anywhere from the 4th-7th spot in the East.
I think that the Trail Blazers actually have a chance. They have the number one pick so they will take either Greg Oden, or Kevin Durant, and they already have a okay team. Next year they will have Greg Oden, or Durant, Brandon Roy, Lamarcus Aldridge, Zach Randolf, and Jarret Jack. They are a young team and they have a chance to break out for next season. And if they don't next season the season after that no doubt in my mind.
The New Orleans Hornets are right up there. I'm hoping Tyson Chandler is working very hard this offseason on improving his offense and trying to extend his range a bit. They would have probably made the playoffs last year if a lot of their key players including their PG CP3 wasn't injured for a large chunk of the season.

They too many first year players on the team. I really don't understand who the Blazers should draft. They have tons of talent on their team. If they draft Oden, they're risking in developing Lamarcus Aldridge and they're going to be giving up on the all-star type player in Zach Randolph. Even though I hate Randolph, this guy has tons of talent. If they draft Durrant, they're risking to develop Roy also known as ROY :happy0144: and Martell Webster who came out of college and could become a good player one day. IMO, I think they need a good PG to run the offense. I don't think Jarret Jack is the guy though, nor is Dan Dikau and Sergio Rodriguez isn't someone I would depend on for a couple of years. In the end, the Blazers are still going to draft the best guy available (Oden or Durrant) but I think they would be putting a lot of risk on the already young players they have on those positions. I would be drafting Mike Conley Jr. He's going to be a great PG and he has great vision and with young players on the Blazers' team, he's going to be great.
How about the Wizards? If we had stayed healthy this past '06-07 season, we could have won 50 games. All we need to do is add a scorer in the draft (Morris Almond) to come off the bench and a big man who can defend and produce in the paint, offensively, as well. We just had bad luck with injuries at the end of the year.. because our guys really could have made a run in the playoffs (especially in the East). P.S. Does anyone realize that Tyson Chandler is still only 24 years old!?

They led the East at one point last season, and are considered by a lot a contender in their conference.
