Actually I'm 15. I grew up going to a Christian school then switched to public in sixth grade. I will always mind it because it's dirty and offensive and I don't like it. I've heard it nonstop since I switched schools and it still bothers me so obviously I'm not gonna get used to it.

No, I know several girls who feel the same(and they are 16,17,18 etc.)...its just trashy if you excessivley curse...sounds like you are stupid, I know its pretty blunt, but when people curse excessivley I cant help but look down on them...

Excessive swearing is definitely unneccesary like just saying "F*ck" for no apparent reason or just because you can.I think it's stupid though when people get mad at you if you say it out of frustration or place it in a sentance where it fits.It never made sense to me why people decided to make a list of unacceptable words anyway. If they're so unacceptable why does everybody say them and why were they created in the first place?Tell me what you'de rather say "That's bullsh**" or "That's a bunch of malarky" or "That's bull poop"I mean seriously [IMG]

The same way in jail they try to brainwash you. You have to learn to think on your own and around what people try to tell you. There's nothing wrong with cussing but yes too much of anything is bad.

the people who do curse excessivley are the same exact ones I see ducking behind cars smoking cigaretes in the parking lots and being loud and obnoxious(not saying that young kids being exposed to curse words will end up like that, but saying that everybody doesn't curse like that, mostly those type of people). When I go out, Yeah I say and hear a "fck, btch" etc.(you hear alotve damns from me), but its complete trash when you talk like "Yeah dude I went to the f*cking gas station, and the was this emo and I was like the F*ck. After I grabbed my sh*t and I was f*cking out and pumped the gas that cost so f*cking much". Thats just trashy...

I am going to be honest. I say "F*ck" A LOT. When I am around my mom, I think twice before I speak. But around friends etc I curse in every sentence...without thinking. I think it has a lot to do with all the Mafia movies I have watched. Not to mention watching Scarface at an early age. It just comes natural.

In real life I won't say it if it bothers someone. When I'm on my own I say it a lot. I adapt to the type of crowd I'm with and if they find it offensive.

I'm not brainwashed. I was tought that using profanity was wrong, so that's what I think. You were taught that 2 + 2= 4, so that's what you think. So does that make you brainwashed? I don't think so.

Just because it's my stance doesn't mean I'm brainwashed. I could say the same that you're brainwashed because you don't think it's wrong.

That is the definition of ''brain-washed''.There is nothing wrong with profanity, it hurts no one. Too much of it can make someone sound stupid but that's their problem and even if someone constantly cusses they still arent hurting anyone.Catholic schools teach kids at a young age to think their way and when they dont they try to outcast you or punish you. It really is nothing more than brain-washing. Some say it makes people better but I think the lessons you learn on your own are what defines you as a person. As you get older you will wizen up trust me. Everything comes with time.

I do see PrimeTime's point though, as you are young and you admitted to being taught that such a thing is true. I don't really consider that brainwashed like he does, but I can see where he's coming from. My only point was that math and personal beliefs are two different things. If there were an anti-addition sect in the world, you might have a point.

I'd much rather someone say something I dont like than do something that actually effects me. I've grown past caring what anyone says effecting me. It may sound cliche but words are just words. If you get upset you are allowing people to control you which is a weakness.3) Not everyone my age has the same view-point but my point was as you mature your opinions change from what you've lived through.

Primetime, people can throw it right back at you. She went to a Christian school and she's a good girl, you seem to have been brought up in a tough place(unless you exaggerate) where cussing is common, you've been to jail multiple times so you don't think that a big deal, you smoke, you assaulted a fellow who probably cussed you and/or your family out...so yeah you think some things are okay when they aren't just like how she may think some things are really, really terrible when they're just words.

That assault thing happened when I was still in elementary school so I dont see how that counts because back then I never cussed. I smoke but again smoking doesn't make you want to cuss. It's just not a big deal unless used excessively. Going to jail isnt ok but sh*t happens, its life. People shouldnt cuss in a perfect world, but again sh*t happens. Why spend your time getting pissed over trivial things which you have no control? Life is short, its a waste to spend it worrying about who says "F*ck". We as people have freedom of speech, if you dont like it then leave America. People died for the right for me to cuss so I will cuss when opportune.

No moderation. You say you cuss when opportune, that profanity is an exercise in freedom, that patriots put their lives on the block for you to cuss, dammit. You are correct about words hurting only if allowed. As far as opportunity, I'm sure that means you try not to cuss when there is something to lose. Like a job or standing before the judge. But would it be hard for you to agree with me that small children deserve even more respect than your boss or PO? That a young woman that respects herself in a world that rewards self-absorbed ditzes deserves more respect than your judge? And they can't get it, cause they can't hurt you.Cussing around the coarse ears of men or women that kick it on that level is cool, I think. I cuss around here with impunity, but this place is a sausage fest; a man cave. It's not doing good if you act purely because of consequences in this matter. You write about freedom, but responsibility is adjacent. Is it possible that you're basking in one, and not tending the other?
