Yeah, Whiteside is an expiring contract and minimizes damage compared to multi-year malcontents. I view this as a kind of try out and see if it's a good fit for both parties. We can easily move on if it isn't.
I don't agree with this. Layman you can make a strong case for but with Collins I think he's more of a dirty work type guy and when he's with the 2nd unit (or in summer league type situations) he's more of a focal point and that's just not his game. The other guys you mention (Hood, Curry, and Meyers) play the same way no matter who is in the game.
I’ve read that Whiteside doesn’t put the same effort into defensive rebounding as he does on offensive rebounding. That’s where Collins could be very useful if that’s true.
Kanter was kind the same way too. He got defense rebounds to but he excerpt himself more on the offensive boards.
Well the stat sheet said different he average almost 8 defense and almost 4 offensive rebounds. Hell his per 23.6 his blocks was close to 3 and his defense rating was little over 106. But his offensive rating number was little over 106 too. That might been the way there offensive was too.
He led the league in defensive rebounding %, as well as total rebounding %. If that's low-effort Hassan, I guess I'm okay with it. I'd like to see what high level Hassan would look like in that case.
I hope Stotts and everyone else puts a big effort into getting Whiteside going and making him as effective as possible.
