<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Milwaukee Denied Yi Workout 23rd June, 2007 - 11:58 am The Journal Times - The Bucks won?t have the luxury of checking out Yi Jianlian one more time before Thursday night?s NBA draft. But that doesn?t mean the Bucks still won?t select the highly-regarded Chinese power forward. It was reported in four days ago that Bucks officials were having trouble arranging a workout with Yi, who figures to be one of the top eight players chosen in the draft. Friday, Dave Babcock, the Bucks' player personnel director, confirmed the Bucks have been rebuffed in their attempts to meet with Yi in Los Angeles, apparently because Dan Fegan, Yi?s agent, and the Chinese government want to get him placed in a large market, preferably with a large Chinese population. I don't like the fact that Yi has a short list of teams he would play for, but won't play anywhere else. Scouts have spent time and money going to your country to scout you, scramble for game tapes, and are generous enough to take you with one of the top draft picks. Be grateful and play wherever you are taken, you shouldn't be allowed to dictate where you go. I understand why he would, it would obviously be easier for him if he went somewhere with a high Asian population, but come on man. Boston, Chicago, LA, Sacramento, Golden State, and Atlanta are the only teams he wants.
No, Yi just doesn't want to go to a city that isn't multicultural...He wants to go to a city that has other asians living there, etc...people that he can relate to..
The Chinese government is really controlling this guy...first they pull him out of the draft last year now this. I wonder if he really cares where he goes.

This is why I don't want Yi Jianlian, I don't want to have the Bucks bow down and kiss the feet of the Chinese government whenever we want Yi do something or not do something. The Olympic team thing is also an issue with me....I don't want him overseas dealing with that all the time.
Now it is being said he will demand a trade if picked by the Bucks......I believe the same can be said for the Twolves as well. Its just dumb how much they are trying to dictate this draft.
Why is this politics now? If the Bucks had problems with the Chinese government they wouldnt draft him....
Chinese govt doesn't care about where Yi goes to, all they need is a big portion of Yi's salary just like they did to big Yao.If Yi can prove himself in the future then Chinese govt will just shut up and start counting the cash.its fegan and NIKE got really pissed and trying to do something desperately. Look into Yi's eyes when hes chosen by the bucks, I can tell hes excited and ready to play.not sure about Fegan thou
When Yi was picked by the Bucks, his dream had come true.He said he was very happy that he can be a member of NBA.No matter where Yi will work for,our country----China will support him all the time.
