Russell Westbrook, Thunder To Explore Possibility Of Trade Before Start Of Next Season
    Jul 6, 2019 2:32 PM

Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder are engaged in discussions about the next step of Westbrook's career, league sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Both sides understand that the time has come to explore trade talks after Paul George was dealt to the Clippers, including the possibility that Westbrook gets traded before the start of next season.

The 30-year-old Westbrook has four-years and $170 million left on his contract.

So you're seriously discounting the massive FA signings that are Rodney Hood and Super Mario? :bgrin:

Compared to the Clippers getting PG and Kawhi, yes! Now last night there were legitimate fireworks.

Showboating MVP of the All-Star Game, sure. A couple of times, IIRC. League MVP? No.

Why would they do that when they just watched Russ choke like a total scrub against us?

Ok I know Russ is easy to hate on, he shoots bad, kind of chases stats, and all that. He’s super interesting though, he’s a really talented guy who plays with a great motor. I have no idea where he fits though. A young rebuilding team isnt going to want him. A more mature team looking to win a ring, bringing him in is a huge risk because of just the way he plays, and how ball dominant he is.

That and half of the guys in the league seem to have beef with him. It’ll be fascinating where he goes, or if they can find a team that wants him and has the assets to make it a fair trade.

Oh man. I guess I totally blocked that from my memory. I still think it’s absurd that so many people got caught up in the triple double nonsense.

I dont know, most of the time growing up I always heard Oscars triple double season would never happen again. So especially the 1st year he did it, I got why people were impressed. That was also the year KD left (and they didnt have PG), he carried them to the playoffs.

I’ve seen so many videos of Westbrook grabbing rebounds from teammates and passing up open shots so he could pass to someone for an assist, that I don’t have any respect for his stats. It’s more like the anti-MVP when he’s playing that way.

Exactly what I've been saying on here. There is NO reason for him to come back early. Especially now with Whiteside on the roster. People talking about him coming back in November were crazy.
