I thought he was a great guy but a lousy candidate.

I was going to go to his Science Center in Dallas last weekend. Seems like a good guy.

In retrospect, I wish he'd won, simply because his disastrous presidency would have put an end to the 'we need to run government like a business' nonsense, and as a result Trump never would have happened.

You can certainly thank him for helping get Bill elected.

    I could, but (a) he's dead, and (b) it probably isn't true.

He was COMPLETELY correct about NAFTA and was a MUCH better candidate in hindsight:

I don't think him being dead today really factors into how I feel about what happened in 1992. Unless the scenario is that we repealed the 22nd, and he died today while serving his 7th term.

Well, nonetheless, most likely, Clinton would not have been elected had it not been for Perot's involvement....Electoral votes notwithstanding.

So you say. I say otherwise, because I've read some studies that suggest otherwise. But obviously nobody can say with certainty.

Let's assume that slightly more of Perot's votes would have gone for Bush than Clinton. That still means that Clinton would have won. Clinton only needed 7 Million of Perot's 19.7 Million voters to win the election, all other things being equal.

But then we wouldn't have had those great Clinton years, and I am being sincere. He was a great president. Better than Obama imo.
