It's great to see Finley finally win a title. For years he was the face of the Mavs only to be discarded as too old and used up. Last year was tough. Mavs fans jeered him with boos and taunting signs in last year's playoffs. jerry stackhouse posed over a fallen Finley after a dunk early in the series. jason terry sucker punched him below the belt and then initially denied it happened. When terry was suspended the Mavs fans in the first row then chose to wear terry jerseys. But last year only added fuel to the drive this year. The Spurs rebounded like champions and are now 4 for 4 in the NBA Finals. But this one was especially sweet for #4 in the silver and black. As David Robinson and the Spurs say it's not really the end but the journey that makes it special.Speaking of Finley I didn't realize just how much of the bill Mark Cuban was contributing for Finley's services until I saw an article on ESPN a few weeks ago. Thanks Cubes...----http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=hill/070611 Since everything is coming together for Finley, it shouldn't be surprising that a piece of his past recently resurfaced. Dallas owner Mark Cuban recently said the Mavericks would love to have Finley back. Finley has one season left on a sweetheart, player-option deal. The Mavs will pay him $18.6 million and the Spurs $3.1 million for 2007-08. Asked if he would entertain Cuban's offer, Finley said: "Cuban? No comment."
