Re: Breakout players in '07-08 Call me biased but I'm going to say Rudy Gay has a chance. Iavaroni is running an up-tempo offense and that's the kind of offense Rudy Gay could be very successful in. He will most likely get more playing time and can run the floor and show off his atheticism. He also has a nice jumper and will have more chances to show it next season. 15 points a game isn't out of the question for Rudy IMO, and if he could come up with that, it would be big for the Grizzlies.
Re: Breakout players in '07-08 My choice is Louis Williams of the 76'ers. He's been one of my favorite players ever since he came out of Gwinnett HS and I still look for him to become a great player in this league. With Iverson gone and with the 76'ers looking to rebuild, Miller will not stick around forever and I really think this kid will work on his game this summer and come back next summer looking to take over the starting PG spot in the 76'ers young lineup. He played extended minutes down the stretch last season and Nobody ever noticed how well he played the final month in Philly. He is very quick with great court vision who draws contact and gets to the free throw line at will. He's got so much potential and he's only 20, he was the steal of the draft in '04 and he's ready to breakout and take his game to the next level. Another player to keep in mind is Rashad McCants. McCants came off microfracture knee surgery the same injury (the same injury Kidd, Randolph, and Amare underwent and the same injury that ruined the careers of Kittles, Mashburn, and Penny Hardaway.) Everyone seems to forget that McCants led UNC in scoring and to a National Championship and that he still has the potential left in the world. He showed signs of stardom late last season and if he can continue to recover from his knee surgery, he still has the talent to breakout and become an all-star in this league. Just take a look at a couple of his best moments...McCants dunk on Camby (DPOY) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQwS6SJED40Jordan like up and under - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MaPanT7ZGBo
Re: Breakout players in '07-08 Adam Morrison - He will definitely improve this offseason. Ronny Brewer - Sloan will let him play next season. JJ Redick - Will come in fresh, will have a rotational role. -------------------- Rashad McCants is a nice player, but to say he could be an all-star and that he has all the potential in the world is going overboard...

If he gets some minutes he will be very good</div>Agreed. With Mike James gone, I think he'll have a breakout year.Other young players I can think of:Amir JohnsonDorell Wright (this guy has a ton of talent on both ends)Travis Outlaw (I think he could finally breakout)Andray BlatcheAndrew BynumDamien Wilkins (if he gets the minutes.....this guy has amazing all around offensive skills....If he gets the chance, he's the next Kevin Martin. I'm telling you...)Ronnie BrewerFrancisco GarciaAll of these guys have a good chance of breaking out in my opinion...All are very talented..

Re: Breakout players in '07-08 David Lee wil have a breakout year and become one of the top fowards.Gerald Green will have his best season this year and he will win the dunk contest for the 2 peat.Renaldo Balkman will become known and have a breakout season. Eddy Curry was very well last season and will laern from his mistakes and do much betta.Adam Morrison will play more like he played in collage.Baron Davis will be back to his superstar self and crossover and dunk ova peeps.

Personally right now I'm predicting Rajon Rondo to have a good season. I wouldn't call Rondo's rookie year a dissapointment at all, but I do expect more from him this season.</div>Obviously you weren't around here last year, or you'd see my love on Ellis.
Re: Breakout players in '07-08 Nice call....Kevin Martin is a really underated guy..I dont see him on tv much

It's just that you didn't post as much back then as you do today. Amare320 made a pretty decent list. Iguodala, GWallace, and Howard are all going to make even bigger improvements in their games. This past year, they haven't really cemented themselves as the 1st option on their teams (Iguodala sort of has, but he still isn't all the time). The player that should make the biggest improvement out of these three players is Dwight Howard. He still has a shitload to work on, such as developing a soft touch around the basket.. maybe a little 10-15 ft jumpshot. He also turns the ball over a lot for a big man, he gets called for traveling most of the time, so he should work on establishing position in the paint and all. It's a good thing he's only 21 years old.
Re: Breakout players in '07-08 Eh, forgot to add. Anyone think Gibson will have a break-out season next year? He was awesome when he got the time against Detroit, I think he'll get the time.. Wonder if he can stay hot and be a decent shooter. Its what is needed for Cleveland, and LeBron.

He's a proven jump shooter now, so he'll get more playing time, and more looks.

Gibson is just the shooting point guard.
