It would almost be worth the 600 mile drive just for the peach cobbler.
Sausalito, the only town I'd rather live in then Lake Oswego although Mercer Island in the Seattle area comes close.
I've also always wanted to spend a weekend at the Fairmont.

I've also heard that the Leschi District (Seattle) is a quasi-Sausalito.

I've been to Kilauea on the big island but there was too much smoke and the roads were blocked so we couldn't get a view.
Enjoyed the Kona coast but we're ready to try Oahu next.
My brother-in-law lived in La Jolla but the weather is pretty much the same all year long.
The closest I've been to Whitefish Mountain is Great Falls and that was Boring spelled with a capitol 'B'.

Spent years covering Hawaii and my distributor was in Pearl City. Oahu is busy but a drive around the Island is nice.
Pear Harbor and The USS Missouri are worth the visit.

I had a chance to see the Missouri when it was in Astoria but medical problems made it impossible.
I think a visit to the Arizona would be intense and moving.

It is, and we try and visit there annually as we go to the Islands a couple times a year.

Debate watch party at my house now officially full!
Tonight's stage, left to right:
Marianne Williamson; Rep. Tim Ryan, D-Ohio; Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn.; South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg; Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt.; Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass.; former Rep. Beto O'Rourke, D-Texas; former Gov. John Hickenlooper, D-Colo.; former Rep. John Delaney, D-Md.; and Gov. Steve Bullock, D-Mont.

Looks like there are only four real contenders. Of course, there's still plenty of time for Biden to stick his loafers in his lips again and open things up a bit.

The Donald would be might jealous...

I liked Warren and Bernie. I don't think they lost any ground.

I agreed with some of the things Klobuchar said. I think she could make a good VP. I don't see her winning the nomination.

Delaney tried to take on Warren/Sanders and failed. I don't think he will be around a lot longer in the race

Buttigeg did ok. He had a few strong moments. I don't think he gained or lost ground.

O'Rourke did better than last debate, and could be a vp candidate. His candidacy for president isn't looking great.

I could see Tim Ryan as a VP candidate

Bullock is one and done

I like Hickenlooper. He has some real experience with success in economy, environment, and such. I don't see him going much further though.

Marianne Williamson was a bit more coherent today. She is a bit out there. I'd say she is done, but she will probably be around for the next debate.

I agree with Chris Craig's views above almost entirely, except the part about Tim Ryan as VP. Yuck.

Someone said that Bullock looks the most like someone picked to play the role of President on TV. I agree with that.

I don't think anyone changed their individual trajectory tonight in a significant way.

Most of them did better than in the first debate, but that rising tide floated all boats.

I thought the moderators sucked. They didn't control the time, and their questions were often stupid attempts at 'gotcha' or 'let's see if we can get candidates X and Y fight with each other'.

I didn't say I wanted Ryan as VP. I said I could see him being chosen as a running mate, mostly because his connections with the working class and the fact he is from Ohio.

Understood. But, yuck. And also, I choose to think if he gets chosen it means we chose the wrong chooser.

Agreed

@Lanny there is some left. Come by.

Moderators were awful. A little better second hour but overall bad. Everything framed poorly, when they finally got to climate change, for example, phrased as why is green new deal bad idea.

Warren had strong opening statement, kept her cool, no errors. Bernie still yells too much but "I wrote the damn bill" great riposte. Numerous candidates apparently had "no we can't" as campaign slogan
Every time Warren said something moderators asked Delaney or Hickenlooper to mansplain to her.
Williamson made some good points but her close made me want to hold hands and sing Kumbaya.
Buttigieg good moments, especially looking into camera and asking Republican elected officials to stand up to racism.
Women totally absent. At a time of full frontal assault on women's rights, nothing on reproductive freedom, violence against women act, sexual assault, harassment, equal pay, family leave, childcare. Like, there's POLITICS ... and then there's women.

Big winner, Lucia! All my guests turned out to be cat fanatics so she got attention and treats to her heart's content.

My biggest food hit was actually the bread I baked that morning after a two day slow ferment.
