You may be right, but at the same time, those people are kidding themselves.

If Republican voters actually didn't like Trump, they could simply vote him out in the primary in 2020. There are lots of people who would run if there was any evidence that Republican voters weren't following Trump with cult-like devotion. There is really no shortage of Republicans who would LOVE to be President.

I agree, Im no where near as educated in politics as most of you, but I absolutely dont understand why the side who has the incumbent basically never challenges them. Everyone I knew in 2016 that I discussed politics with (both Democrat and Republican), seemed to think the options at the time SUCKED, so now that we have a new chance to right that ship a bit, it seems odd to me that republicans are going to stand by the option even they thought sucked back then...

The irony is, she's not liberal, and he's not conservative.

They don't face competition (from within their own party) because they know the other side would market that as a weakness. Plus, you have people who run for the President professionally, and those who are "running for President" for the kick start of name recognition. And you'll receive more name recognition when you run in an election without your party being the incumbent.

Well, politics certainly wasn't the intention of this thread....but, whatever.

What's that got to do with his illegal sexual escapades with Epstein and Epstein's bevy of very young beauties, I call them children?

Trump stands far from strong. He even once stated "That's the end of my Presidency". The only question is will he be embarrassed by his total rejection in 2020 or will he first be impeached? Second, how long after he's booted from the White House before he's indicted on several felony counts? Once he leaves the White House he's no longer protected by the Justice Department policy of not indicting a sitting President. Mueller has clearly laid out his serious violations of the law.

Convicting a President during an Impeachment trial is far more difficult than just impeaching him which is difficult enough.

I think it can be based on polls which place such voters firmly in the roughly 40% category.

When I was young, I've gone down that hill late at night at 120 mph.
One time in California, again in my early 20s, I got clocked doing 90 in a 55 and like you I had slowed down about 10 mph before he clocked me. I was driving a '69 Volvo four banger. The officer said something like "just how fast will this go?" I smelled a trap and replied "I don't know, I've never driven it as fast as it will go." I can tell you, I have had it as fast as it would go which was 95 on the level and 105 going downhill on I5 through Salem headed North again late at night.

I probably should have had 50 more tickets than I got during those years, at least two for drunk driving.

The good news is that I was capable of learning and have done so. I'm now more typical of a Lake Oswego driver, very careful. I often drive the speed limit and never more than 9 mph over the posted speed. It's at 10 mph over the posted speed that they'll give you a ticket.

If you have to buy 10 yogurts for $10, the management should count the lot as one.

Is it just me, or are many of these stores putting their s-l-o-o-o-w-e-s-t checkers in the so-called express lanes?

But, yeah, so long as they're not swiping those yogurts one-item-at-a-time, I agree with you.

When I moved to Oregon 19 years ago, we first moved to Lake Oswego, figuring it was safe, easy to manage, and had good schools.

One night, I'm going to pick up the babysitter and a car full of rowdy teens totally cuts me off and then flips me off. So I honked my horn at them for a good 10 seconds.

When I got home 15 minutes later, there's a knock at my door. A policeman is standing there and asks me if I honked my horn? I said yes. He said "We don't do that in Lake Oswego."

That is one reason I moved to SW about 6 months later, where I am today.

I have a somewhat similar story...I was driving to the library once, and going through a neighborhood (there's really no other way to get to the library but to go through a neighborhood). As I was at intersection, someone walking in the hood asked me if I lived there, and I said no. Then they pointed to the sign saying "neighborhood entrance. Local traffic only" (or whatever it says). So I respond with I'm going to the library, etc...and they said "well, this isn't a through street".

"I know, I'm going to the library"

I guess if people were going through that part of L.O., to get to Macadam, I could see their point.

Luckily, it was just once that it happened to me...and I just chalked it up to someone who was frustrated with people using the neighborhood streets to bypass Country Club/A Street. But part of me wonders if the reason he questioned me being there was due to the junker car I was driving at the time.

I hate the country club mindset of any area. Like when you park in a neighborhood (like in SE Portland) and sometimes you get people giving you the stink eye because you parked in front of their houses. Hello, you don't own the street!

I mean sure, just because I parked across your lawn....

I grew up in that neighborhood. It's now called "First Addition". I've lived on tenth, 8th, 6th and two different homes on 2nd. I know the area around the current library very well. No, I've never seen a local traffic only sign but I've seen on between Bryant Rd. and South Shore Blvd. The sign is strictly advisory and means nothing other than that. When I ride home on the VA bus they always used to cut through that local traffic only area to get to South Shore to get me home. We weren't local traffic by any stretch of the imagination.
I'm tempted to review the old neighborhood partly to relive my youth but also to sort of thumb my nose at that sign. Let's see ANYONE tell me I can't go through the old neighborhood I grew up in. I went Kindergarten thru sixth grade at Forest Hills grade school near there. Oh baby, I'm waiting to give someone a piece of my mind.

Fuck them for that, and I'm not joking. 15 items does not mean 17 or 18

define standing strong? Are you referring to Putin and the Russians continually hacking our elections and trying to keep the orange buffoon in office or is it the fact his approval rating has barely moved since in office? I wouldn't call a guy that owns the 40-43% approval rating as someone who is standing strong.

There are a lot of independents that don't care for him as well. His only base is about 40% of the country and the republican party refuses to do anything. Just once I would like to see some of them get a spine and a sack of balls and stand up to his bull shit.

    True independent here.
