That leaves our front court depleted. Were not winning rings with that depth.

It's not like you can win a ring with what you have now. Do this trade, and you have a much better shot at getting there. The Lakers would have two of the top notch players in the NBA, just like when they had Shaq and Kobe together. L.A. didn't have much depth downlow when Shaq was in L.A., but they still won, because Shaq was dominant, just like Garnett is.

I wouldn't say KG is dominant, but him and Kobe both demand double teams. So picture them two getting more and more single coverage from defenses. People underestimate the duo of Kobe and Garnett, KG is realistically a perfect #2 option and goes along with Kobe GREAT.I don't think Kwame is in the trade anyways. KG/Kwame/Mihm/Turiaf and maybe the MLE if you need to is enough depth for the 4 and 5 positions. The Lakers should probably use the MLE on a PG though. That's where you should be more concerned with depth. Farmar is solid, but his defense and jumpshot isnt there yet. LA just needs a PG that will knockdown the mid-range jumper and 3 often and plays solid D. Also someone fast, forget a Phil Jackson triangle PG, get a guy with speed that can keep up with Nash and Parker. OR they could try to make this Cook for Head deal and use the MLE on a big man. There's many options for the Lakers here. You just need guys that will bang with Duncan and other bigs in the West.Kwame / Mihm OR MLE / MihmKG / Turiaf / 2nd rounderWalton (resigned) / Vlad / Kobe / Mo EvansMLE / Famar OR Head / Farmar OR Farmar / 2nd rounder

I don't know Melo...it's still KG. It's tough to give up Lamar, and then we throw any potential Bynum had away. But it's worth it. Kwame Brown was just the icing on the cake. I don't want him. Good post defender, but nothing much else. He is too confidence ridden and picks his spots to play well.
