I was look at the Bulls and their player salaries, and get this, the Bulls have locked up Kirk Hinrich until 2011/12 signing him to a 50 million dollar contract, with no opt out, no team option, and no qualifying offer. Hinrich is not leaving the Bulls unless someone offers them 50 million for this guy. But correct me if im wrong, how in f*ck is Kirk Hinrich the highest paid player on that team, and one of the only players locked up for the next 5 years? Sorry if this is old, but what was Paxson thinking when he done this?
Um cause hinrich was a free agent before anyone else on this team.. And kirk isnt getting to much. Other teams wanted to offer him more I think. But kirk took what paxson gave him so we could have money to resign Gordon and deng.Locking up Kirk was a great move... Not everyday where you find a PG willing to play both ends and defend as good as kirk.. he did make 2nd team all D
Yeah, the others just haven't expired yet, they are still on their rookie deals. Deng and Gordon surely will get big pay-days, Noc is due for a decent one this summer, Duhon is still on his rookie deal, then obviously Thomas/Thabo are as well. The only problem I see with it is that they will not be able to re-sign all of these players, so they have to make a deal or two sooner or later.

So then we can resign thomas with some of that.</div> OK, but what about Luol Deng, Ben Gordon, Andres Nocioni (who you have to re-sign this summer), and Chris Duhon? That's a lot of money.
They have enough to give to deng and Gordon I believe.. and duhon isnt gonna be on this team very long

Being fiscally responsible? We got Hinrich on the cheap. 5 years, $47.5 million; he would have gotten more on the open market. But he's been a Bulls fan since he was a kid, so he chose to stay and take the financial security along the way.The others are simply still on rookie contracts.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (CelticBalla32 @ Jun 26 2007, 12:17 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>OK, but what about Luol Deng, Ben Gordon, Andres Nocioni (who you have to re-sign this summer), and Chris Duhon? Unless they all get max deals or something like that, which won't happen. Duhon will be traded this summer, and even if he's not he expires after this season and then he's gone. The Bulls also gave Wallace and Hinrich declining contracts; which will make it easier to resign everyone. And then once Thomas and Sefolosha are up for extension, Wallace's contract will have expired. Also, the Bulls are the most profitable team in the NBA. I don't think money is an issue.
