<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>June 26, 2007 - 5:02 pm RealGM - Ernie Grunfeld, Wizards' President of Basketball Operations, is looking forward to making his second first round selection since he has been with the team. ?We?re looking for the best player, not necessarily a big one," said Grunfeld on Tuesday. "We have some young big guys. Oleksiy Pecherov is in here working out right now. Andray Blatche, who is 6-11, is also a promising player. I don?t think we?re going to get somebody at 16 that will come in right away and help us, but if there is a good big man available or somebody drops, we?d definitely take a look at it.</div> http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives...ying_put_at_16/ I'm very happy with Ernie's state of mind here. We don't need to neccesaraly jump at any big man left, there will be some options. Right now I'm desperately pulling for a Nick Young drop, although it is unlikely for him to get past New Orleans, I can hope anyways. I'm also very excited that Ernie wants to pick a player who will contribute instantly. This off-season will define Ernie Grunfield tremendousely.
I don't understand why Ernie doesn't think they will be able to get a contributor right away. They certainly will.

I trust Ernie, however. He's a good GM and knows talent, especially in a draft such as this.

He's turned the franchise from a 25 win team to a 40-50 win team. He's done so much for us including: Signing Gilbert Arenas Trading Jerry Slackhouse for Antawn Jamison Trading Kwame 'Bust Boy' Brown for Caron Butler Signing Antonio Daniels Drafting Andray Blatche in the Second Round Not matching Larry Hughes and Jared Jeffries offer sheets Signing DeShawn Stevenson for less than $1 mil Only moves he's made that I am critical of are re-signing Etan Thomas and signing Darius Songaila to a bit too much. ------ He's much better than he was with Milwaukee
