He posted the alternative facts list. Didn't you get the memo? Trump ended all the murders in Chicago just like he promised.

 

Prolly has something to do with the population being so high. Raw# of crimes might be higher but not when normalized for 100,000 people as this list is doing.

 

It varies a lot by neighborhood. For a big city like Chicago, overall violence statistics may not look bad because there are many areas where violence rates are low. Go into the poor areas on the south side and it's a totally different story.

 

Chicago is very safe and clean, for areas I stay in.

Uber driver said stay the fuck outta the south side.

 

Yep, that's pretty much true for many big cities as there are good and bad neighborhoods in most cities.

Yes, your point does still stand. But the list is not irrelevant and I did intend to detract. The reason being the perception of the observer of the effectiveness of the Police should be balanced between feel good perception and effectiveness of the force.
Better yet, the local civilians need to have sufficient effective local control of their police force so that training is implemented when needed due to continuous oversight. So that effectiveness can be coexist with sensitive appearance.
The feel good must be a partner with logic, to meet the need of all. But then, you already knew this.

 

Seems something is wrong with the list.

 

Or South Chicago is drastically muted by the shear size of the rest of the City.

 

The last time I was in Chicago, the Police would not let me walk more that a few blocks south of the lakeside boulevard my hotel was on. Is that Michigan Ave.?

 

Only a guess, but maybe if South Chicago were a City, it would indeed make the list.

 

Why would they 'herd' a mentally ill person?

 

Cops on horses shouldn't be herding anyone, imo. However, they do in cities that use horse patrol. Ive seen it with my own eyes.
