He was half black and half white. He suscribed to white supremacasy. I'd say he was leaning to the white side.
You don’t understand why? The more we can blame shootings on autism or bad parents or video games, the less blame can be put on guns. Because as we all know, only in America do we have bad parents, autism and video games.
I mean... I guess if we want to jump to conclusions more than I already did, but it seems like such a weird hill to climb. Though I do want to say I think of those three things you mentioned I honestly do believe bad parenting has become a huge problem, not that other's don't have that problem but I know so many people that have kids and treat them like crap, or serve their own needs long before their kids (I realize that's anecdotal), and therefore a weak argument, but personal opinion bad/self-absorbed parents are really doing a number on society. Anyways, to me jumping up and down saying Autism did it, just seems so weird to me...
This issue should be looked at from every angle...and mental health issues are a rainbow of things...if someone points out a character trait that even involves one of these young shooters....it's not fair to say they are ONLY blaming one thing on the problem....this is why things don't get solved...you have to take everything into consideration...in too many of these conversations it's impossible to raise the issue of gun control at all because their are so many people who have strong opinions about them. I'm sure I'll not convince one of them to accept my view on guns after having had that argument so many times in OT here
River, I think most of us would agree that there are many things that go into the problems we have with violence and mass shootings in the country. You may not "convince" me to take up your stance, but I do respect your opinions and I'm glad to read them and I (try) to be respectful when I disagree. My point wasn't so much that Autism / Mental Health can't play a part in gun violence, or mass shootings, or stabbings, or whatever just that I find it odd when Autism gets brought up continuously even when there really doesn't seem to be facts to back it up. Taking a snapshot of a guy and saying he looks weird he must have autism, rubs me the wrong way...
That's going to happen around here...happens to me all the time but he's weighing in on the topic..I've made fun of mug photos before or made judgements of them...usually looks like a crackhead or looks like a heavy drunk. Both also diseases in my view. To have an informative thread about autism and it's realities would be the place...to say someone looks a certain way is not usually PC but let me introduce you to "elprez"
