Report: Kapono reaches agreement with Raptors
Sunday, July 1, 2007 04:52 PM BRISTOL, Connecticut (Ticker) - Jason Kapono reached a four-year agreement with the Toronto Raptors on Sunday, according to ESPN.com. The network reported that the contract is worth $24 million for Kapono, who averaged a career-high 10.9 points with the Miami Heat last season.
Free agents formally cannot sign contracts until July 11.
"Jason is excited about this opportunity and intends to sign with the Raptors when the moratorium period ends," Kapono's agent, Bob Myers, told ESPN.com.

http://www.sportstwo.com/NBA/ViewText/272787

It's doubtful that MoP returns and I'd like to see him on a good team like Dallas.
I'm pretty happy with the signing.
Sorta like the return of Kap'n Crunch part 2 or something.
Quite frankly, the team couldn't hit shots against the Nets. Sure better D and rebounding would have helped but those are things that I really believe the team is going to try to build from within, the shooting however became clear that maybe this team just didn't have the shooters it needed.
Luke Jackson and Juan Dixon were both brought in and didn't really make a difference so it was clear that this area needed upgrading as bad as the others.

With Parker, Kapono, and Bargnani on the floor together, you could potentially have three players who shoot threes like lay-ups. Best three point shooting threesome since Lewis/Allen/Ridnour?
According to a few newspapers, the Raptors signed Kapono for 20 million. So it will be 5 million/year. Much better.
Parker, Kapono and Bargs. Oh man.
Chuck: Get out the umbrellas; it's raining treys.
