Well, it's kind of a race to see if Boris Johnson can fuck up the British economy faster than Trump can fuck up the American economy. If Bojo wins the race to the bottom, which he seems to be doing, it will be fantastic news for me personally. Nothing would help me more than a cratering British pound coupled with a cratering British housing market. My income comes in dollars, and I currently rent here. So yeah, while no politician has ever fucked me harder than Trump with his incompetence, no politician will likely ever help me more than Bojo and his incompetence. But I'd still rather not go through Brexit. Just because something is good for me doesn't make me happy to see friends and my children get screwed over.
That's the popular perception, but personally I feel like he's much more clever than Trump. He's kind of a cross between Trump and Nixon. He's got Trump's laziness and crassness and complete lack of character, but also Nixon's intellect and complete lack of character. Trump is a toddler with a machine gun, while Boris is a Al Capone dressed up as a toddler with a machine gun. While we debate which is worse, somebody should really look into that machine gun.
Thanks! Yes, we make this bad boy. Also, here's my site. If you buy something, get it there. I make more money and it costs the same! Man, I've pivoted so many times I feel like a sprinkler head.
I probably should ask for some concessions like you are discussing. There's only so far we can push things, but we could probably do better.
I was literally just looking at some wood spatulas and spoons on Amazon today. I'll buy them from your site instead. That way I know who to complain to if I'm unhappy with the product!
Here he goes again. China raised the tariffs on USA imports in retaliation to Trumps tariffs. So.... Trump is re-retaliating by increasing all imports from China by an additional 5%. Saw Trump bragging about how many Chinese have lost jobs due to his tariffs. BUT, no mention of how many USA workers will lose jobs due to China's tariffs on USA products. One local industry bracing for a big hit is WA state apple growers. Sure there are many more.
Motherfucker is raising them again. Welp, guess next week my job is to implement a new round of Trump Tax on my customers. Normally I spend this time preparing for Christmas season.
History has shown trade wars increase the risk of real war. Taxing imports and exports does not always ends well. Most notable, our revolutionary war. High tariffs lead to the Boston tea party. Rather than compromising on a workable solution, the high tariffs resulted in a real war. Remembered by few, the USA tariff act of 1930 was very similar to Trumps tariffs. The tariffs were meant to increase and protect USA jobs. As the other countries retaliated, tensions escalated. The tariff wars continued for years. These tariffs are considered the kindling that feed the flames that lead to world war 2. Of course there were other factors that caused these 2 wars. But tariff wars do not promote world peace. Just the opposite, by increasing the tension between countries.
Good points. Embargoes and tariffs tend to cause bad things. Japan attacked the US as a retaliation to the oil embargo that FDR/Government had implemented on them. They felt they had no other choice, realistically. These tariffs will make someone money...I wonder who....
Here's the thing though, it's not like he didn't know that the stuff mook was selling was made in China. It's 2019...acting like stuff should only be made here is part of the act that MAGA people put on. He's just trying to point out that mook isn't "woke" (pointing out how he's a "hypocrite"), as an attempt to further his character/entertain himself. As in, he's going full Stephen Colbert in the Colbert Report. He knows his computer/phone/most of his electronics were made by slave labor/in China. But he'll claim he only buys American Made stuff (so, electronics from 30-40 years ago), as if that is what he's using to view this website. At least Stephen Colbert broke character once in a while, and admitted it was shtick.
Both China and the US will come up with a compromised deal and chances are it will be better than we ever have had with China. Its in the best interest of both nations to settle and they know it.
Trump totally does not understand diplomacy. If he advocated economic designated low tax, trade tariff free zones instead of a Mexican wall, the factory alternatives would be more feasible for US manufacturing. I foresee the Mexican peasants having a chance close at home. Instead of shipping over wide stretches of ocean, established Tex/Mexican factories could use the trucker unions where plenty of opportunities could develop for the trucking industry.
The problem with US Economics and trade is we all want it instantly, we want the results in Wall street Yesterday, we want jobs yesterday, the first sign of an economic down turn and people lose their minds. The reason why we wont win a trade war or any other kind of economic squabble with China is they play the long game. They’re leadership doesn't care if they’re losing jobs today, or every day for the next six months, they don't care if it hurts them in the short term. They figure they’ll wait us out, another year Trump will probably be gone anyways, even another 5 years, they’ll be fine. The leadership will be at least. They've been around for thousands of years, they figure they’ll be around for thousands more and the US will probably implode long before then. Im not saying Im for the tariff’s, I am saying if we ever want to stand up to China, in the slightest well its gonna hurt and its going to be long and painful, and I don't think US voters are willing to deal with short term repercussions of doing so. I absolutely do believe China is a real problem for US economics and even world economics. The US should have gone to their allies, and came up with a plan together to strike at least some fear into China, and at least not piss off US Allies in the process. I dont want Chinese people out of Jobs, anymore or less than I want that in the US. I do believe though, that the IP theft, terrible work environments, waste, etc in China is something the US and its allies should hold them accountable for.
As long as anti-Americans like @SlyPokerDog freely choose to unfairly profit from the deaths and suffering of slaves it will indeed be difficult for decent people who oppose slavery to keep profiteers from exploiting them. Trump's policies encouraging/forcing companies such as Mook's and Nike and Amazon and Google and Apple and Microsoft and WalMart... to stop supporting today's China slavery market which is on a scale larger than all previous slavery in the history of the world combined is the most moral move any US President has ever taken against slavery. To oppose it is morally vile and indefensible by any humane standard. Many products have always been Made in America, or in many of the other approximately 150+ countries that do not keep slaves, and more are coming back every day thanks to POTUS Trump. The American entrepreneurs are being unleashed from regressive regs, jobs are reappearing and Americans are re-investing in their own country again, withdrawing the left's financial support for slavery around the world.
