The hand other administrations played, and the right way to play it, is to unite as many other countries as you can against China. Strengthen your trade ties with all of the allies. Show China that they lose trade everywhere by not complying, not just with the US. Going it alone against China is stupid. That is correct. And the current administration is very weak, and getting weaker. By being allies with our allies, not enemies. Not trying to antagonize them at every step. Entering into, rather than backing out of, multi-lateral agreements. You know, diplomacy. Because it's cheap labor, and lots of it. Offshoring of jobs is kind of a different issue than trading with China, which I think is the current topic of discussion. There's nothing wrong with trading with China, if you believe in capitalism. We have money, they have stuff we want to buy, they offer an attractive price. There are some real issues around intellectual property theft and human rights and offshoring, but having a trade deficit with China is really not something to worry about. barfo
Nothing wrong with trading with China at all as long as they are fair with their markets and tariffs. I don't see where past multi lateral diplomacy with them has produced anything close to fair. If they allow American cars in their markets and a comparable tariff, I would call that progress. If they allow American companies to outright own business in all market segments, like we do them here, that also would be progress. If they don't come to the table than there are always other trading options. So, Germany can slap a much lager tariff on an American car, where we allow their BMW's to come in here virtually tariff free? you think that is being partner Allie in business? I don't.

An inordinate amount of posters in here seem to be Christians, and often times those Christians are conservative. I think in the nation it is safe to say that the majority of Christians are also conservative. This, I find reprehensible and hypocritical, this self-serving cherry-picking of biblical "principles."
