It makes sense. Rey was shown duplicates of herself in last jedi in the dark cabe when she tried to figure out her past. It could be saying she is a clone. Maybe one of palpatines contingencies

I think rey actually turns after finding palps created her and she is a clone. Palps waves off Kylo because the Skywalkers he created were a mistake and weak...too prone to the light side. Palps kidnaps Rey and orders kylo eliminated which is why we see him battling his own dudes in the trailer. Kylo beats them all, including his own knights of ren. Both the revelation that his line was created by palps and the fact that palps/his peeps betrayed him are enough to push him back to good Ben Solo. He then takes refuge with the resistance....(who can say awkward)...and asks for his mothers forgiveness which he gets...hence her being the heart of the movie...and then goes and does final battle with Dark Rey (Palps) - she won't be the only one with a new saber. They battle and he somehow turns her back which causes palps to remove himself from her or one dies (sacrifices themselves to defeat him) and palps is defeated.
