I talked to a few people I know around here..and they are tellin me this rumor has a pretty good shot of happening...it's much more then just talk.Really shocking to me that the Suns would trade Amare for KG...I don't really get it....could end up bein one of the biggest NBA Trade Mistakes of all time.

I don't like this trade for Atlanta. Yes Amare and JJ would be amazing but from what I saw on ESPn they would be giving up the both draft picks which would mean they'd still be a good PG away from being able to make any noise.

They would be a playoff team...A Horford and Law draft and they aren't yet.

This is basically what the trade would look like from Phoenix's partOutgoing:Amare --$6,227,500Thomas -- $8,091,188Banks -- $3,966,207 Jones -- $2,900,000Total - $21,184,895 $21,184,895 * 125% + 100,000 (the most amount of salary a team over the cap can take on in a trade): $26,581,119Incoming:Garnett -- $25,300,000Total -- $25,300,000They would be giving up a 1st team All NBA talent, their back up big man a decent all around forward and a worthless back up point guard for KG. Their entire bench would consist of Leandro Barbosa, KG would be the only player on the roster that is a true big man and like mentioned before would completely trash the value of Atlanta's unprotected 2008 1st rounder that the Suns currently hold.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>NEW YORK ? Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Garnett is close to going to the Phoenix Suns in a monumental three-way trade that would send Phoenix forward Amare Stoudemire to the Atlanta Hawks, league sources said Wednesday.Atlanta would move the Nos. 3 and 11 picks in Thursday's draft, as well as Zaza Pachulia and Anthony Johnson, to Minnesota.Minnesota owner Glen Taylor has delivered a mandate to his basketball executives to get a deal done, one league executive said.Yahoo! Sports has learned that the trade would also save the Hawks from an emerging showdown between the front office and coaching staff over whom to draft with the third pick. The front office and coaching staff had settled on Florida power forward Al Horford, but a faction of the Atlanta Spirit ownership group, with business interests in China, is pushing them to take Yi Jianlian. The deal hinges on Atlanta general manager Billy Knight saying yes, as well as Hawks ownership, which is mired in lawsuits, being willing to increase payroll. It is believed that star Hawks guard Joe Johnson talked to his former Suns teammate on Wednesday and that the 24-year-old Stoudemire, a first-team All-NBA choice, told him that he'd welcome the trade.</div>From yahoo...WTF!!! I will be so ticked off if this happens. I don't care how good KG is. Amare will be better than him!!!

I was over on an Arizona board talking about this rumor and someone posted a quote from Larry Coon (salary cap expert -- see CBA FAQs) on Amare Stoudemire's trade situation.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>If they did a draft day trade, Stoudemire would count $6,227,500 as outgoing salary (half his current salary). Minnesota would see his full salary as incoming salary. By the way, Stoudemire is currently the one and only player in the league in this situation -- he has a 15% trade bonus, but he's not eligible to receive it. This is because the new CBA doesn't allow trade bonuses to take the player over the maximum salary, and he's the only player in the league in this situation who signed under the current CBA (guys like Kobe & KG are also in this situation, but they signed under the previous CBA, so they get their bonus if traded). If Phoenix were to trade for KG, they would have to send out at least $16,720,000. Minus Amare's BYC, that leaves $10,492,500 to send out. So that means at least two other players have to go out, such as Thomas and Banks.</div>
