<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Phoenix Suns are discussing a trade with the Charlotte Bobcats for the No. 8 pick to get into the NBA draft lottery, multiple sources close to both organizations told ESPN.com Tuesday night.Although Phoenix forward Shawn Marion can opt out of his contract at the end of next season, a source close to the Suns told ESPN.com that he is not part of a Charlotte deal and is expected to stay put.ESPN's Jim Gray is reporting, however, that Marion could be part of a three-way trade that would land Kevin Garnett in Phoenix. Marion would go to Boston and the Celtics would send the No. 5 pick in Thursday's draft and players to Minnesota. The Suns source told ESPN.com that role players were involved in the proposed trade with the Bobcats, but at least one other team besides Phoenix and Charlotte is also involved, making the deal difficult to pull off. The Suns currently own picks No. 24 and 29 in the first round while Charlotte has Nos. 8 and 21. Phoenix convinced the agents for likely lottery players Corey Brewer and Joakim Noah of Florida and Jeff Green of Georgetown to work out for the Suns because they felt confident they could get into the top 10. The Suns also invited Celtics executive director of basketball operations Danny Ainge and coach Doc Rivers to watch the workouts in Phoenix. The Celtics and Suns both told ESPN.com, however, that Boston was there to watch the workout, not to discuss a trade. Both said the Celtics and Suns aren't trade partners for Boston's No. 5 pick.</div>I dont understand why PHX would invite Danny Ainge and Doc Rivers to their workouts...Phoenix is confident they can get a top 10 pick.

I think teams do this every year; they have a host site and 2-3 teams come and watch the workouts.

I heard the rumor is Kurt Thomas and the #24 for basically nothing as Bobcats can absorb Kurt's contract. This move would shed salary for Suns and Bobcats get a veteran big and another pick. Not a bad deal for Cats imo. They should jump on it.

It would mean they would be going back to using Shawn Marion to defend the likes of Tim Duncan which if that was the case the Suns might as well not even bother to show up in the playoffs because they would have absolutely no chance of beating any team with a reliable low post big man.I really want to go kick Gambo in the mouth for spouting off such crap [IMG]

SA would dominate us so I would hate it.

I think they're interested in Brandan Wright....It seems that he's falling, and he would probably work well in a fast paced Phoenix system.

I think Joakim Noah or Jeff Green would be a better choice for the Suns. They are NBA ready players, while Brandan Wright needs some more development. And this team needs an NBA ready player, seeing they are in the title run right now. Joakim Noah plays great defense, has good leadership. Yes, his half court offensive skills are limited, but in the open court, he can do a lot of things. He can run the floor, and handle the ball, and could really benefit with Nash passing him the ball. With Jeff Green, they get a combo forward that can also run the floor and shoot. He was in a "share" offense in college, so the Suns offense wouldn't be anything new.

I don't like Noah at all, but I'd take either of those guys now that we don't have the 4th pick. I really like Wright though so if they get him I wouldn't pass on the guy.
