I didn't see this posted.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=AgqA...p&type=lgnsNEW YORK (AP) -- The NBA announced extensions of its television contracts with ESPN/ABC and TNT on Wednesday, deals that will include rights for digital media content. The eight-year extensions will go through the 2015-16 season. The current six-year contracts expire at the end of next season. ADVERTISEMENT Financial details were not immediately disclosed. The digital rights include the ability for the networks to broadcast live games and other content on digital media, including the Web and mobile TV. The deal also covers any new outlets ESPN develops between now and 2016. ABC will continue to air 15 regular season games and the entire NBA finals and will televise an increased number of games earlier in the playoffs. The maximum number of times a certain team can appear on the network during the regular season has been increased. ESPN and ESPN2 will continue to show up to 75 regular season games as well as one of the conference finals. ESPN will increase the number of early round playoff games it airs. The contract also includes new rights for ESPN International to televise games worldwide. TNT will continue to air 52 regular season games, the All-Star game and one of the conference finals. The previous deal paid the NBA an average of $765 million a year.</div>Personally I hate this, I think that ABC is bad for the NBA and is actually responsible for many of the problems we see today. I think its utterly rediculas that they show only 15 games a year, and now that they can increase the number of times they show a team all we'll be seeing is the Lakers, Heat, Suns and Cavs.
Yeah the ABC doesn't know how to produce a basketball game. I used to like when Mike Tirico, Tolbert and Bill Walton did the games for ABC...at least made it decent because Tolbert and Walton are characters. Me personally..I am smart enough to break down the game myself..announcers should be for entertainment purposes. Tirico can drop some stats and knowledge of course..but having Hube Brown sit there and state the obvious over and over does no good for me..Now they just dress it up with old people who are SUPPOSE to be knowledgeable...but aren't. Some stupid girly pop song. The same 3-4 teams every game. A crappy halftime show.NBC was great with Bob Costas and Marv Albert. Oh the days. ABC is such a sissy station when it comes to sports.
ABC is crap. At least TNT is good. I missed the TNT analysts in the finals. They would have made it at least a little interesting.

Bryant Gumble, ugh!
I can't stand ABC, however I'm perfectly happy with ESPN and TNT. Also, if you think ABC favors a couple teams, from what I hear NBC did it to another extent with the Chicago Bulls. I mean they may have been the best team ever to play the game but I still think they could have focused more on other teams. Also, NBC lacked a consistent scoreboard, very annoying watching ESPN classic games and forgetting the score.
ABC!! oh god.Im going to hate that .. but whatevvver il get over it.TNT im happy with, there always awsome.Espn is alright at times.
ABC has ruined the tradition of watching NBA games.used to be once the NFL season was done, you always got 1 or 2 games EVERY sunday afternoon on NBC or CBS (ahh CBS in the 80's.. good times). Now you don't know when or if you're gonna get a Sunday afternoon game. WTF am I supposed to do on Sunday afternoon after NFL season?!?!and Sunday night playoff games. what is that crap.sunday afternoons are for playoff games dangit!hate, hate hate the way they handle the games.
Well this just sucks. I was holding out a grain of hope that NBC might come back but this just shatters that. BTW, I know they always show Lakers games, but no joke the last game the Lakers won on ABC was when Kobe hit those two clutch shots against Phoenix in Game 4 of 06.
I love TNT, ESPN is okay sometimes, and ABC is pure crap. They don't even feature their own announcers anymore, same with their graphics and stuff it's all ESPN. I think NBC should get the Sunday afternoon games, and maybe have a consistent Sunday Night Basketball thing on TNT, that way fans can see three games broadcasted on TNT each week.... And ESPN can stick to what they already have. :dribble:
The one major complaint I have about ABC is that they force local games to be non-televised. I want to watch the Wizards play not The Cavaliers vs. The Mavericks every other Sunday.
TNT has obviously the most enjoyable NBA program because of their panel. It's kind of hilarious, because this shithole TV channel just dominates NBA because the panel makes it so enjoyable.
Let me break down the variety of games that ABC has to offer...LAL vs PHXLAL vs SADET vs CLECLE vs DETDAL vs LALDET vs MIAESPN is a bit more flexible...PHX vs DALHOU vs MIADAL vs SACHI vs MIACLE vs WSHLAL vs SACTNT mixes it up almost every week...DAL vs HOUCHI vs DETDEN vs LACHOU vs SAPHX vs WSHNO vs SAIND vs DETI get tired of hearing about the same teams each week, there should be a few more teams added to the primetime scheduling, even if some of those teams aren't very good. I know it sounds odd, but sometimes I want to see a Hawks game or even a Raptors game once in a while. There are some teams that aren't exposed...
