If you get insulted when people tell you to “dig a little bit” then maybe you shouldn’t demand they do research for you. Sorry to be snarky, but every time a point gets brought up that isn’t in the national news feed people here scoff and act like you’re claiming Bigfoot exists. When I waste my time digging up facts to present here, people just attack the source, It’s just never ending and not worth the time. I made a claim that I feel is true, if you don’t agree you don’t have to and if you want to look into it, feel free.
ISIS and other extremists are a huge part of the faction that is fighting Assad’s government, when we arm “the opposition” those weapons fall into the hands of ISIS and other jihadist groups that will likely turn them on us in the future. It’s the blueprint for what happened in Afghanistan. We armed the taliban to fight the soviets and 15 years later those weapons were turned on us.
There’s no single news story that is going to make you think critically about the topic. Look at what’s happened in the past and how it parallels what’s going on today.
We can disagree now, but when all the bits and pieces fall back together we’ll be in another war fighting people we held up in the past. That is my opinion, but it is based on a handful of simple truths that come from all across the board, not from a single article I can link to.

By most accounts, there is not a single faction fighting Assad. Yes, some of the rebels are bad guys. Maybe all of them are. But they don't all have the same motivations, and they aren't all ISIS.
We helped the British fight the Germans, and the British haven't turned on us yet. It doesn't always work out the way you suggest.

I wasn't insulted, your response was just disrespectful, assuming that i haven't read a thing. You've already admitted that your original claim may be untrue. That was what I asked for evidence about. You assume that I "haven't dug in deep" and "don't think critically about" this topic, which is an insult, in my opinion. Not really constructive to have a conversation about something I think could be.

The British weren’t cutting our heads off at the same time either.

She's definitely got her good points.
Did you know that she's a Buddhist?

She is not a buddhist. She is (if you like her) a Hindu, or (if you don't like her) a Hare Krishna.

My bad, she's not Buddhist. But actually, she had a falling out with India's Hindus. Don't really know her stand on relgion anymore.
Hare Krishnas are just weird. I haven't heard that part about her before now.
