http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=Apcm...o&type=lgnsI wanted KG as a laker.Looks like the hawks might be a playoff team next year with Joe Johnson and Amare.
Already posted this in the other topic. But like I said there, I am going to be freakin ticked if this goes down. Amare is the most promising big man in the league right now, bounced back amazingly from his surgery, and can dominate in games. Why trade him for KG, who is getting older and older, when you already have a dominant inside presence in Amare who is still young?
Despite RealGM and other sources saying this trade is nearly complete, don't put too much weight in these rumors. It's all talk, we've heard over and over that a third team would need to play a role in a trade, this third team which is now Atlanta will pull out before the draft. Why? Because, if Atlanta wants Amare Stoudamire to compete at the level he is doing in Pheonix they need a point gaurd who can set him up like Nash does in Pheonix and without the draft picks Atlanta loses the option of Acie Law or Mike Conley forcing them into a dilemna. Unless Atlanta has another answer for their PG issue it would be a huge mistake for them to trade for Amare Stoudamire.
I hope this trade doesn't happen I want Kobe as a laker.KG should be a laker.Amare and Marion should stay as a Sun.

Marion as well does not want to be in PHX anymore, so it's best for the Suns to trade him.

I just don't see why the Suns would do this...they can win now with Stoudamire on the team; they don't need to bring in Garnett to give them that final push...

Also, Shawn Marion has wanted to leave for some time now. He wants to be the #1 option on some team and not have to share shots with Barbosa, Nash, Amare, etc.

I just saw it on sportscenter.

I heard this will eithier happen tommorow or today on tv...its not a bad trade. but leaves Atlanta with no draft picks, is Amare worth 2 draft picks?, Is KG? The Suns would be the obvious winner of this trade in the short run but Id like to see what Minny will do with these picks.Pachulia is also a solid center, the Wolves wouldnt have a bad start to rebuilding. Horford, Pachulia, and and a PG to go along with Foye, pretty solid.

They need a player to get in there who is already developed and can contribute with Joe Johnson. This would be a very good move by Atlanta.

And there not taking Calderon anymore so they dont really have any prospects except maybe Mo Williams.
you honestly think they'll get Conley at the #11 if they take Horford at the #3?ain't happening.it'd have to be Acie Law.beside with the Amare trade, Joe Johnson can play some point too.

He's done it in Atlanta, and if I'm not mistaken, he's ran some point in PHX as well. Point is, they won't be without a PG. They should bring in Amare, an All-Star who can contribute now and help them get back into the playoffs this season. Atlanta is known as one of the worst teams right now. Season after season they have one of the worst records in the NBA. They need a player like Amare to get that bitter taste of losing every season out of Atlanta fans.

They do need to fill that position but Amare doesn't need anyone close to Nash to be as good as he is.I would not like this trade. It still probably wouldn't get us past the Spurs because KG will just go and get himself in foul trouble and we'd have the same problem. I don't want to throw our future away for a 2 year run which probably won't get us anything.

KG can do every single thing Amare can, and is even better defensively. You could say Amare had a superior playoffs, but KG would have done the same. KG can be a go to guy from now on. Hed fill that spot better than Amare for sure.
I'm saying that KG will be a bit better next year, but not enough to push us past the Spurs I don't think. We'd have to have both his and Marion's contracts and both he and Nash are in the latter parts of their careers. They only have 2 great years max left and then we are done with competing for a long, long time without Amare. Of course good news could be that he's better and his great defense(along with role players brought in) could put us to the next level and we win two championships. The Amare being a locker room problem could be true and we rid ourselves of that...We avoid the 2nd microfracture surgery from Amare that comes unexpectedly early and ruins the franchise. I just don't like this trade though...I'm not that optimistic about it. Of course I'm a KG fan so I won't be too upset, but I don't see us winning anything if we trade them straight up.
You know what? I wonder what KG's stats would look like at our pace with Nash...hmm...Kerr, please don't make a mistake.
